    I'll agree with you. The math of accelerating to c is troublesome. Would take a year at 1G. Will not be happening for man given out current knowledge of things.

    Except that a light year takes only a year.

    What is the correct answer to your headlight question? You have been ducking that answer for several months. Do you even know the answer; or are you going to say that you do and not tell us? We'll see.

    Our cooling technology is sorely lacking . . . besides, it would take a hell of a lot to bend that light into a full circle.

    The reason @freshmeat does not give an answer is because mass will become infinite as the force required to reach the speed of light also becomes infinite. Let's say traveling at the speed of light is possible and the "headlights" are turned on. The result would be, you are traveling at the speed of light.

    Ahhh, but if my headlights are traveling at the speed light, the light emitted therefrom is traveling at twice the speed of light, unless of course, I've got the transmission in reverse . . . then it's zero.

    Here's an Einstein riddle for those interested in puzzle-solving . . . no cheating, now.

    1. Mass can never achieve the speed of light.
    2. Photons may achieve light speed or faster because they have no mass.

    Reality: @freshmeat posed a rhetorical question devised to elicit responses knowing none is possible (mass may never attain or exceed the speed of light).

    We all know we cannot travel at the speed of light, but it was a hypothetical question. @freshmeat wrote, "Let's say traveling at the speed of light is possible . . . ".
