See what you pr1cks have done? no-one's been posting, so I've reduced to
discussing SF on rasfw, hampered somewhat I fear by the fact that everyone
    thinks I'm a troll . . . .

They remind me a lot of english lit. majors (you have to keep an eye
on what they're doing in the lab and can be sure that they won't get
any joke that references a well-known principle in any area of science).

    I'd be cautious.

Hm. The only evidences of mental failings I've seen is belief in ordinary
travel to the stars and in space colonization (even just near-by stuff,
such as in space itself or on Mars).

Oh, yeah, and my failure to ask Alexi Panshin while I had him on the line
(so to speak) about his apparent negative obsession with blue cheese (see
each of his three "Villiers" novels, which I have cherished for decades--
    including the cheese reflections).

I suppose I could PING him, if he's still speaking to me after my last
    post to him . . . .

I think you are interested in trolls but you mostly posts to some fine
sportfroups like tennis and basket . You might be a basket troll :)

...you also post a lot to some troll groups, so you could be friends

    Food is always good.

rasfw doesn't seem to like the expression "sci-fi". Dunno why. I've been
a fan of the genre (going by authors) all my life, and use that
expression, and don't consider it demeaning in any way.

Ah, well, every group has its quirks, as well we know.

yeah, alt.tv.red-dwarf are not fans of the expression "comedy." i never
saw so many people take a fun littel "brit-com" so seareously. they

ANOTHER LITTLE PROBLEM is that I don't think I've read any sci-fi written
later than the '80s, with the exception of Jack Vance's latest and
    probably last . . . .

    <ponder>

There _was_ Gardner's "Cineverse" trilogy, Cecil B. DeMille save us
    all, which IIRC was turn-of-the-decade . . . .

Which is undoubted if extremely extremely _extremely_ cheesy sci-fi.

    (Or maybe "cheese food product" . . . .)

One thing I've noticed in browsing without buying in the second-hand shops
is that over the last ten years or so a suspiciously large number of new
female SF writers seem to've cropped up.

    Dunno what that's all about . . . .

(And before anyone even starts, I have and have long cherished Ursula K.
Leguin's "Hainish novels"-- _Rocannon's World_, _Planet of Exile_ and
_City of Illusions_-- and Joanna Russ' _And Chaos Died_ . . . .)

((And enjoyed Andre Norton muchly when much younger.))

    ...sweet with the word yer....
Is it English, American or Irish?
