Say Goodbye to the Democratic Party of Jackson, Truman and Kennedy...

Sen. Joe Liberman (D) traveled to Iraq four times since the war began. He understood why we are fighting these animals and why we need to defend this country! Though he voted for socialist program after socialist program, he stood by one "anti-left" belief that we need a strong defense and the necessity to fight this war against islamic jihadists.

Democratic voters made him pay for that core belief. Even Al Gore did NOT support Liberman! That's right...his 2000 presidential RUNNING mate, AL Gore!

Today's democrats are nothing like the party our parents grew up with. They have been hijacked by the village idiots of this country. These are the same people that have no belief and will when it comes to the defense and security of this country. Yesterday's results in CT proved how far gone (left) the party of Jackson, Roosevelt, Truman and Kennedy has moved.

That's what happened when the hippie-losers of the 60's shaved their beards, took a bath, breeded more "gimmee-gimmee-gimmee" children, and made in roads into our higher educational institutions along with the main stream media. I am sure Truman and company must be spinning in their graves as they watch the destruction of the democratic party they knew and loved...

    So sing with me...

Hey...hey...hey...goodbye! Nah, nah, nah, nah...nah, nah, nah, nah...hey, hey, hey...goodbye!

I think this whole event says a great deal less about the state of the Democratic Party and volumes about the effect of being seen as being allied with George W. Bush and his Iraq policies. Lets not forget that it was Lieberman's support of Bush's policies in Iraq that got him in trouble and vulnerable in the first place. The vast majority of Americans polled are now saying that the war WAS and IS a mistake in spite of the Bush Administrations “Stay the Course” rhetoric. I think that anyone that aligns themselves with Bush and his policies, be they Democrat or Republican, just may be in for a rude awakening in November and in 2008.

So heralding the disintegration of the Democratic Party over this incident would be somewhat premature and just possibly the exact opposite conclusion to this event that will eventually play out. Joe Lieberman has been there too long and forgotten who he represented at exactly the wrong time. Within a month, he’ll drop out altogether. Democratic problem solved. So long Joe and thanks for the memories. :hail:

BTW: In case you were wondering, I'm Baaaaaack! There goes the neighborhood :D

I think Joe L. will win the Senate seat as an Independent when the elections come in November. He will not drop out. There are more registered Independents in Conn. that will put him back in office.

The only flaw in your reasoning that I can see is that Independents don't always vote for the Independent candidate even when there happens to be one in the race. A majority of the votes cast by self-proclaimed Independents go to either the Republican or the Democratic candidates in pretty much all elections. Joe is history once reality sets in.

I think that today's arrests and information on the foiled plot in the UK will only serve to strenghen Lieberman's bid for re-election as an Independant and will weaken Democrats hopefuls running on the "we need peace" b.s. bandwagon

Everytime I hear about another islamic planned attack or another islamic killing, or another islamic bombing, or another islamic jihad this and jihad that, I just thank God that our soldiers are over THERE fighting these animals in their backyard instead of waiting for these animals to attack here.

Liberman saw first hand WHY we need to fight and never waivered from his convictions that what we are doing is RIGHT and why this war is JUST. He didn't bend over for the "green-peace" and "move on" losers of this country. He stood against them on this ONE issue and the democratic party screwed him.

Again, his voting record on social and tax issues are way too liberal for my likiing, but at least Liberman had it right when it comes to fighting against islamic radicals. I see him WINNING in November as an Independent since 2/3's of CT voters call themselves "independent" and Liberman will also pull many republican votes as well.

That is a logical "stretch" at best.

AGAIN! You are confusing the war in Iraq with the war on terrorism.

O.K. then logic tells me that you had a great time in Florida, but are glad to be back home again.

    How am I doing?

Welcome back and hope to see your next post soon. (really!)

    Thanks Old Dan!

We took the kids to the Lincoln museum in Sprinfield here in Illinois, Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, Stone Mountain in Georgia (had to pay our respects the the confederate war heros), Discovery Cove/Sea World (actually got to swim with dolphins and 8 foot rays) in Orlando, Ybor street in Tampa (adults only) and Fort De Soto in Tampa, Chatanooga Tennessee (Lookout Mountain), and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial otherwise known as the St. Louis Arch in none other than Saint Louis.

    It's good to be home.

No...the war in Afghanistan and Iraq are the "front lines" on the war on terror. The same people we are trying to kill in Iraq and Afghanistan are the SAME people we are trying to kill in the war on terror.

Yesterday, muslim groups were upset that the president said this is a "war on islamic facists". Well good for him! I would have prefered if he said "islamic jihadists", but at least he is calling these people for WHAT THEY ARE!

Back to the topic...do you really think that democratic leaders would ever use the term "islamic facists"?? Probably not because they do not wish to upset these people. Too bad! If wants like a duck, quacks like a duck...

Moen, as usual your observations about the Lieberman defeat are right on target.

There is no "war on terror," and it isn't about fighting "islamic facists." It's part support for Israel, part war to capture and/or control energy resources, and part effort to replace American sovereignty with a government more in tune with internationalist views. The more obvious this becomes, the less support there is from average American citizens -- regardless of political party. It's pretty pointless to view things as democrat/liberal and republican/conservative when there are no real policy differences between the two sides. The real struggle lies hidden in plain sight and people are catching on.

    jwevansv,
    mamooney,

Your love of war is exceeded only by your hatred of American ideals. Those of your ilk would sacrifice the American Republic for your lunatic beliefs. Patriots aren't buying it anymore. Your viewpoint is now a minority viewpoint and after November, God willing, it will be swept out of Washington into the dustbin of history regardless of political affiliation.

You can continue with the insults now. It's obvious that you have to try to intimidate any genuine traditional American viewpoints that show up in this fourm because of the intellectual bankruptcy of your bizzare blood-lust.

Where is your genuine American viewpoint? Is it your appeasement? Is it your ignorance to see all these Muslim's wanting to kill more and more of us? Even after this latest UK terror plot was foiled you still can't admit OUR American values are being attacked by fanatics! You attack me more than you do the ones who want to kill you! You are a threat to the U.S. by your complete ignorance to the threat we face.

And if I did a "poll" asking Americans if they were tired of the war in Iraq, I am sure you would get many yes's because we are all tired of WAR. But we aren't tired of winning the war! The poll should ask, do you think the U.S. is being targetted by Muslim Extremists who want to kill us? I wonder what the results would be.

I can't wait for the November elections to see what "poll" really matters the most. Just like the last 2 Presidential elections. Americans polled with their vote and YOU are still on the losing side. Keep losing and keep getting more and more bitter. You are a loser and will always be a loser with your ignorance. Yeah, I am name calling, so frickin what! Your ilk needs to be called out by what you really are. I am not a PC person. Never will be.
