The emergence of a new Mahdi would only sink Muslims further into the abyss. They simply do not have the "horsepower" to prevail. They never will.

One battle can change the momentum of a war. A win can ignite an impossible to resist momentum, a loss can desolve morale. If momentum is built they will feed off the enemy (us). Horse power is momentum, high morale overcomes friction and can create victory. It is a mental game this issue of war. Ideology can trump technology. If, as you say, their ideology is empty all is well.

About ideology can trump technology, we have not barely used our technology in Iraq. Bush just threw the ground forces out there to be shot and bombed at after he declared victory.
Now I am glad that Bush did something after 911 but come on now. In Iraq at the least he could have done was shut down that Syrian border with our air power and no allowances made. I am sure there would have been alot less car and roadside bombings then and alot more GI's alive today.

No it can't. That's fairy tale stuff. Muslims will continue to be a pain in the butt for a while. These guys are walking dead men. As a wise old Philipino once said about the late President Ferdinand Marcos, "He is like a palm tree after a hurricane. He is already dead, but few people can see it". Or some words to that effect.

This Muslim threat stuff is largely idle jaw-flapping. In the end, reasonable Muslims will be the biggest losers. :secret:

    one hundred percent.

"He who wishes to fight must first count the cost. When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be dampened. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength. Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain. Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor dampened, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue... In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy "

"In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it."
-Sun Tzu, the Art of War

"No leader should put troops into the field merely to gratify his own spleen; no leader should fight a battle simply out of pique. But a kingdom that has once been destroyed can never come again into being; nor can the dead ever be brought back to life. Hence the enlightened leader is heedful, and the good leader full of caution.
    - Sun Tzu quotes"

WE HAVE COMMON GROUND HERE. If they MUST stay at least do it right. I have mentioned Tommy before he is the Marine MP, he is setting up roadblocks there, that really sucks.
