"So you don't think shooting our enemy in the belly is a good thing? What do want to do? Put them into therapy?"

no but a nice clean head shot is alot more effective than a shot in the belly.

and midas what do you know about therapy :D

It's been said more innocnet lives were lost in General Curtis LeMays fire-bombing of Tokyo than in the A-Bombs which were dropped Hirshoma and Nagasaki (sp).

even one is unfortunate, isn't it?

And I'm not a 'bleeding heart' here. I'm aware that sometimes it's the most effective and required route... but it should be something that we all regret. It should weigh on us all, and we should feel the sadness of colateral damage.

yeah those fire bomb really messed up their citys. most of the bulding were made out of wood and it spread like.. well wild fire. :mouth:

and dont worry now that we have the neutron bomb.

and dont undermine therapy too much. we already use mind attacking tactics.and i think future wars will se more and more of it.

if we would have surrounded baghdad with giant concert size speakers and blasted celine dion non stop for about a week we could have gotten the whole republic army to put down their guns and walk out of the city. :mouth:

Boy howdy, how would you like to have this guy backing you up in a fox-hole? It's now wonder we have people killed by "friendly" fire.

ASK any WWII Vet if Truman did the right thing in dropping the bombs. If not, there would have been over 1.5 million casualities additional if the United States would have had to fight a mainland invasion of Japan. Also the war would have lasted well into 1946.

As Sherman stated in his march to the sea, "War is hell" and sometimes our leaders have to weigh what is best for this country. Truman looked at the facts and made he right decision. It was a tough decision and he had the backbone to make it.

Today we need to make the same type of decisions that Truman, FDR, Eisenhower, etc., had to make. If that means attacking a mosque where terrorists and civilians are held up, you do what is in the best interest of the country and the protection of our soldiers...NOT in the best interest of the enemy!

My heart doesn't bleed like yours for our enemy and those "innocent" civilians that claim "religion of peace". If those innocent civilians were truly innocent, then they need to do what is right to rid their religion of islamic terrorism. If not, then the damned be damned.

    more BS.

You cannot take a people and call them evil, so that you can justify, in your head, that it's ok to be a cheerleader of death to people who have done no harm. And there are people in the middle east, lots of people, who have done no harm...

Beyond that, all you have done was proven my point. Truman weighed it, decided it was necessary and made the TOUGH choice. And hopefully, he was human enough to regret that that choice had to be made for the rest of his days. Did it save lives, potentially yes, it saved a lot. Did it also cost lives? Absolutely - it cost a lot. That should always be sad. If you do not find it sad, you have no business seperating yourself from the 'animals' you lambast.

So you can sit here and dance over the idea that lots of innocent men, women, and children would be slaughtered in a mass bombing in Iraq - and cry how it's justified. But that only damns one person, Midas. Mercy on your soul - you did it to yourself, and you can blame no others for your lack of humanity.

It is okay Rick...we know where you stand. I am willing to take on the enemy. Many like you would rather run to Canada.

There have been a half dozen of these self-described Mahdis in Middle East history. That Sadr goof is one of them. I think that ultimately the Middle East will become more secular, not increasingly fundamentalistic Muslim. The extreme Muslims are stuck in the tenth century. I suspect that most young people in the Middle East would move away from the bearded religious types given an opportunity. The usual omnipresent sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

I think China is overrated. Taiwan has twice the prosperity per capita. Wait until the Chinese hit the "cheap-oil wall". I also believe that they are more vunerable than you think. If WallMart closes, they would be in trouble! Just joking of course, but the Chinese clearly depend on a huge American market for consumer goods. Right now, they can't afford a major conflict with the United States. I noticed that they just agreed to purchase 70 Boeing 777s. I think that is an effort to buy-off a United States Congress that is clearly tired of punitive Chinese trade and monitary policies.

I'd bet all that ugly sand in Iraq would make a "purty piece of glass"!

oh no. don't call me a hippy. curse you, and your fervent logic and reason.

let's get this right though... *you* are not willing to do anything, except chant for death. You are not there - you are here. If you are so willing, gods speed, young man. The only thing *you* seem willing to do is use this war as a platform to funnel the racist hatred that already existed. You were just waiting for something like this to happen so you could feel more socially free by showing your true colors.

If that passes for 'back bone' in your book, I'll pass.

Now lets be honest here. I have some older friends who were in Vietnam (I believe that I posted Sarge's link around here somewhere). They tell me that the real partying went on over there. For many many Vietnam was one long acid trip, with occosional breaks to shot up and smoke weed. The run to Canada remark is so removed from reality that it is like from outerspace or something. Many of those who gained C.O. status and those who went to Canada were the REAL American heros for standing up to an out of control gov. I can not even imagine the mind set that totally ignores reality in order to put down these heros.

Danr if you haven't figured it out yet, the same nations that want us dead are the same nations that use the UN to try to destory Israel and they use their oil money to buy support from other nations.

DAnr if you haven't figured it out yet there are other muslim terrorist groups besides Al Queda like Abu Nidal Organization (ANO), Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), al-Aqsa Martyrs Battalion see Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade,Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Ansar Al-Islam (AI), Ansar al-Sunnah Partisans of Islam see Ansar Al-Islam (AI),Arab Revolutionary Brigades see Abu Nidal Organization (ANO),Armed Islamic Group, Army of Mohammed see Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM),Army of the Pure see Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LT),Army of the Pure and Righteous
see Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LT),Army of the Righteous see Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LT),Asbat al-Ansar, Black September ee Abu Nidal Organization (ANO),

    see Abu Nidal Organization (ANO)

    as well as:

    Harakat ul-Mujahidin (HUM)

    Al-Jihad (AJ)

    Jihad Group
    see Al-Jihad

    Jund Al-Islam
    see Ansar Al-Islam (AI)

The list goes on and on of muslim groups supported by muslim nations that have sunni's that want to kill shia, shia that want to kill sunni and both of course want to kill everyone else.

This terrorist issue goes back to Jihad and Mohammad who started Islam with the sword. Saudi Arabia has the sword of Jihad in their flag if you never noticed.

So wake up. Stop blaming the Jews. Stop blaming Bush. When there are no more jews in the world and when Bush is long dead. Islam will still be killing. Just look at the muslims themselves. Always blowing each other up. Shia against Sunni, Sunni against Shia and both against the Kurds.

Now you have the right to voice your distruths. But the truth is unless we have a united fight against Islam. All your leftist friends in the media and show business world who have been lying to the american public for their own agendas or a paycheck will be amongst the first to die when Mohammad takes over the town no matter how much the left buddies up now to that sword of blood.
