"Rumsfeld Out" while Cheney is goofing off...

As many have heard, Donald Rumsfeld steps down from his position as Secretary of Defense, (some say forced out by GWB) coincidentally while his #1 supporter (Tricky Dick) Cheney is away hunting pheasants and getting drunk in South Dakota. Yes the very state old Bonedigger is reporting from I'll scour the news for reports of mysterious shootings over the next few days. I predict Dick Cheney will soon follow in the footsteps of Rumsfeld...

What are your thoughts?

 

I wonder how many jobs it possible that Condoleeza Rice can carry on? She does everything else.

 

All the major news sources say that the President ask for Donald Rumsfeld to step-down, and he has accepted the decision. Mr. Robert Gates will be named as Secretary of Defense after this is all settled. They say he is someone all the Generals like and can work with.

Now that the election is over and as Bonedigger said, the V.President is off in the boondocks killing birds and drinking all the soda that is produced in that part of the country, we will have the oppertunity to make a change. Let me be the first to offer what we, here in the great state of California, call our 'three blind mice' to have all our troops home by Christmas of 2006. Led by God's gift ot humanity Nancy Pelosi, and assisted by none other than Barbara Boxer, we will be out of Iraq in record time. I almost forgot the third mouse, Maxine Waters who is along with the others just to make the quota. Boy, this is going to be interesting.

Who needs Condoleeze Rice when you have a line-up like this! Happy times are here again, lets all go to Washington and show our support. Meet you one the front steps of the Capitol Building.:thumb:

UPDATE: C-130 departs Ellsworth AFB heading due east at 1:50 MST. I understand he travels with a complete miniature hospital emergency room staffed with active duty military personnel. I think it's sooo damn hypocritical that during a time of war (Vietnam) Richard Cheney deliberately avoided military service almost to the point of fleeing to Canada.

It really bothers me he so gleefully sent/sends young men and women off to do what he was/is afraid to do himself -- Defend the interests of the United States of America, right or wrong, when called one must answer first and ask questions later. As far as I'm concerned he faltered in this responsibility. He failed the FIRST test of a successful leader -- Selflessness, Never ask someone to do something you won't do yourself... Yes, GWB is in the same boat but when the choices are limited always choose the Lesser-Of-Two-Weevils and we are fighting this war on the enemies soil

BTW, I'm a Republican.

You sure are, and we could all have figured this out by your posts. Yes sir, a true red, white and blue Republican who never says anything bad about a person, usless he just can't do otherwise. Silence is Golden unless you are running for office somewhere, then anything goes!

 

It only follows that when you reach a certain age, you do two things, and have no choice. Pay your tax and die! And I'm not sure that Rumsfeld pays any tax, but I know the other is still in effect!

 

Sorry to burst your bubble but you can die at any age, there is no magic number, from the moment you are born you are destined to die. As for the Tax bit now that is a matter of personal choice (and the use of a good accountant LOL )

Hey Whistle Breeches, nobody asked your opinion, but AS USUAL, you've interjected your sarcastic smartass comments into the mix. Then again, it would have surprised me if you hadn't as you've done so repeatedly in the past.

When you FINALLY get to go to Russia for your 'Higher Education' (GED) or whatever I really do hope your able to benefit from your international lessons. You know like getting into the habit of holding your fork in the left hand, standing when ladies enter the room, etc...

No apology needed or necessary, as I feel that I took unfair advantage of you. In an attempt to get my mind on anything else than what it should have been, I diverted this thread into a plaything. I did get my mind on it and forgot a test that was due tomorrow. Now I'm going to be up all night trying to catch up.

My hat is off to all of you old GI's and especially this Saturday! Maybe someday I can earn this respect which is so richly deserved. Nice going all you vets.
