I wish he would take a remedial math course. You and I have been on this forum long enough to remember his many botched attempts at arithmetic. Just thinking of them makes me chuckle. View attachment 758
Case in point...you've been suckered into believing abortion is okay because it's a "religious thing" (and in the liberal thought process anything remotely religious has to be wrong) when in fact it's a matter of whether or not an innocent human life can be terminated because it poses an inconvenience to the people who created it.
Rural old white men with 2 dollar haircuts telling women what the can and can't do with their bodies. Too funny that these old white guys give themselves that power. I hear young urban women want to outlaw hunting because it is murder. Fishing is just murdering fish and they think guns need to be outlawed by congress. The death penalty should only apply to rapists and men with diabetes should be left out on an ice flow to die because they are a burden on society. I hope you're cool with all that. Sure you are.
Sorry but what has any of this got to do with the original question? so far I have put 2 names up as possible candidates for the next Presidential Republican nomination and you guy's have put up ZERO names and I am a Brit LOL For those of you who are Republicans/Democrats remember you are talking about the future of YOUR NATION so come on try to focus on the future of America.
So you did Stu, I missed that amongst all the other dross that has been posted LOL Condi I think would stand a good chance and Marco Rubio seems to have a good base and looks to have quite a lot of political experience, Ron Paul they wont touch LOL Jindal now he might well be a bit of a wild card he alinates a portion of the population straight away by been against Gay marriage and been pro life and would be likely to upset many in his own party with his stance on healthcare and he likes Hybrid cars LOL
Your assumptions regarding my thought process are woefully inaccurate. I oppose the right to life argument because they want to outlaw abortion based upon a religious principle, a clear violation of the establishment clause as it relates to the 14th amendment per the supreme court rulings in key cases from 1947-2012. Your definition of "an innocent human life," is a point of contention, as the majority of scientists would argue for the trimester system, hence its existence and establishment in the courts.
Not exactly. His opposition to abortion on Catholic grounds would be struck down by the supreme court. He would need an actual scientific, rather than a theological argument against it. See decision and concluding remarks in cases: 330 U.S. 1, 393 U.S. 97, 482 U.S. 578, etc. - Religious grounds are not acceptable grounds for overturning or issuing a law, as established by the Supreme court, the ONLY branch of our government with the power to make such interpretations and rulings.
The main problem with Rice, Rubio, and Jindal is that even other minorities wouldn't vote for them and neither would the confederacy wing of the party. What the Right-wing has never understood about including minorities in their tent is that slapping a black, brown, or dark complected candidate in front of the camera isn't going to fool anybody or gain them any support. It's their policies, their minority voter suppression, and the way they use minorities to scare white voters. None of that escapes the attention of minorities.
You can lump 'minorities' altogether if you want but the fact is that Hispanics are not a solely democratic resource. African Americans, yes. No matter what the Republicans do, they are going to go 90 plus Dem. Hispanics, that is not the case. They do not vote lockstep. Before Obama, Bush got about 40% of the Hispanic vote. And Hispanics are going to marginalize African Americans as an important electorate going forward. All the Republicans have to do really is get realistic on immigration and they can make 50% their floor with a relatively unlimited ceiling. I also completely believe Democrats would not be successful painting someone like Rubio as a 'token' minority as they do any black conservative that dares run because it is just not going to be believable and wouldn;t play well with Hispanic voters of any party. And Rice? No way would they get away with treating her like a Palin or Bachmann. They would kill the female vote.
Yes indeed De Orc. I raised the question and even I haven't put a name up. Why? - because I can't see one at this point. However it IS our future at stake and whining about President Obama for the next four years is not a very viable solution to me. I think a lot of Republicans need to wake up and realize this blatant truth.
So you DO have a sense of humor hiding somewhere in that pea brain. I'm impressed. Well, not really but you get the point.
