So as you've so eloquently danced around my question and came to the same conclusions you always come to, that being that this current government of ours is indeed Socialist, you have to believe that all of our allies are also Socialists. You seem to look at both current events and history and learn nothing. Germany was Fascist not Socialist. This is a well-known fact of history but it doesn't serve your current rant so you choose to ignore it.

What it comes down to is a war of words and the meaning of those words. If this proves nothing else, it proves that words do matter. If you can paint your opponent with words that frighten people, you can gain public support in the almighty court of public opinion that the Right wingers are also so fixated on these days. When Bush was in office, they couldn't have cared less about public opinion but now they do everything possible to turn it against the Democrats with lies, scary words that are poorly understood, and re-writing history. If you dare call them on it, you are an educated elitist. What has this country come to when more education is seen as a bad thing? Hitler is often used as a comparison because he is the most scary person that the Right can associate anyone with. It is easy to associate just about any political movement with Hitler's rise to power because political movements aren't all that different from each other no matter what you actually represent. You can compare Abraham Lincoln to Hitler and find plenty of similarities in their rise to power. I won't bother doing it one more time. The problem here is really one of a lack of education. People are polarized and amped up by a group of moneyed interests that use cynical tactics to achieve their goals of power and domination at any cost. The less you know, the easier mark you are for these people and there are certainly plenty of people in this country that frighten easily and lack education. Fertile ground for these cynics to plow.

Bush was Hitler for 8 long years to a bunch of way out left wingers. I can guarantee he still is to some of them. Should we all have taken up our weapons of choice, gathered in large groups and violently forced them to shut up about their Hitler talk?

Now Obama is Hitler to a bunch of way out right wingers and will be for the next 4 to 8 years and even beyond that for some. Should we now gather together and violently shut these people up? Why now if not before and why not before if now.

As far as protesters go, I have a lot more respect for someone like Cindy Sheehan than I do for a mob mentality, violence tinged gathering at an Ann Coulter event. At least she is constant and, as far as I know, non-violent. She protested the last guy and now she is protesting this guy. On the face of it at least, she is not a political tool and, whether one agrees with her or not, I think her way is the right way.

I've never disclosed any details about my present financial state of affairs here and I'm never going to. Fact is son...I'm very, very, happy with my life as it is right now. Has nothing to do with finances..it has to do with morals. I'm comfortable with mine compared to who and what I rant about. Hey man...I could be some upper income high roller that just likes to hear themselves talk, or I might be "living in my mom's basement", as the 300K dude suggested. You are asking people to dedicate and study their asses off for YEARS. If one wants to specialize in a certain field of medicine, that will require additional years of study and dedication as well. Now, we have a heathcare system that is not going to reward one's dedication to their profession and guess what? Nobody in their right mind is going to go through years and years of study and dedication only to have some lacky like Meow tell them how much they should make.

You have people all over trhe world coming to the U.S. for medical care. Hell, the P.M. of Canada had to come to the states for a procedure because of the shortages of specialist in Canada. Now, B.O. has destroyed the greatest healthcare in the world by dumbing it down to the rest of these socialized countries.

 

Nobody?? Academics get PhD's and then start making less than 40K a year pretty routinely. Your shallow goal of material wealth rather than being a force for good isn't shared by everyone in this country thank God! If we were as all shallow and materialistic as you, this country would be in the toilet. There are teachers, doctors, and even lawyers that choose to work for peanuts because they know they are doing good work. Hey I was just wondering what the difference is between suing yourself into prosperity and merging, outsourcing or otherwise cutting somebody else's throat?? Aren't both/all just considered good "business" decisions??

Funny thing. I know of a rather large "corporate" company where if you need major surgery.. they have a deal in play that will fly you off to India to have it, all expenses paid for you and a guest, fly you back and PAY YOU 10% of their savings versus having to have the same surgery in the US! Many satisfied customers too. Why do they do that ...you idiot!!

The correct corporate answer as to what/when is enough is of course...there is never enough. MORE is always the "pre-merge" objective, and MORE is of course, NEVER "enough".

Edit: I apologize. I just found "enough" in the corporate business dictionary. It defines "enough" as whatever amount that minimum wage was in 1965, minus 10% CEO retirement fee annually. Their example given is "A corporate CEO can NEVER have ENOUGH, and a corporate, below management level employee, ALWAYS has enough, as deemed by their corporate manager.

Our medical system was never broken, it needed refrorm. It desperately needed tort reform to stop all of Meow's socialist losers from suing their way into a lotto settlements. It needed reform to allow us to shop insurance companies from state to state. It DID NOT need the government to tell doctors now how much they can charge and how much they can make. It didn't need to spend money our government does NOT have.

People come to this country for the best in medical care from all over the world. If our medical system were broken, we would be heading to France or England for the best medical care, not the other way around.

Meow needs to stop relying on other people's money and work in the private sector so they can remove his head from his ass.

 

This is how stupid you are. Even if you outlawed all lawsuits for any reason, even if you didn't consider the 98,000 medical mistakes that happen evey year inthis country, you could only reduce health costs by less than 1%. You are a Republican ass-hat!
