Have you ever tried to give away a piano? I had a large upright in good condition and tried to give it away. I couldn't get one offer because of what is involved with moving a large piano. To say that "we donated" a piano doesn't sound like all that much of a contribution to me. I ended up taking an ax to my piano and found a few nice coins that had fallen inside over the years.

Wow, Someone with something to give hooking up with someone in need, all working towards the common goal of making this a better place to be. Enter the bureaucrat, that will be $300.00 please for um oh well you figure it out. Don't you just love it.

Pro-Life logic 101: Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt, social status, dropped off on more door steps than I can could count, and yeh, they always tell me I should be grateful. Can't quiet figure that one out. Having a great time, glad to be here, screw you. (Not "screw you" in a personal attack kind of way, but "screw you" more in a vernacular your little opinion doesn't count or bother me kind of way. Where's that little smilie button, ah here we go.........:)

Why would they want to give their piano away? They use it in many different activities. Give it away? I guess I'll never understand the far left mindset.

    IQless1 trump supporters are scum

The building's owners have a need, they went about asking for it in a belligerent manner, but what's left out is how belligerent was the OPer when he found out the owners were asking for $$$.

From the owner's point of view: The OPer can afford it, the owners need $$$ to keep the building open for business and charities, and the OPer was probably belligerent when he was told he needed to donate $$$ too.

    That's my guess.

He just makes these stories up to fit his American Taliban narrative anyway. I wouldn't pay a whole lot of attention to what he posts when it comes to relating "actual" anecdotes. He is full of crap.

My guess it that the "OPer" is the owner. Think about it, clueless.

I think it's kinda funny how fog-of-war & clueless fall all over each other with their creative little twists & silly assumptions. It would be cute if they weren't so stupid. Bless their hearts.

Having muddled through this thread I'll go back to the OP.

When you donated your piano was there any paperwork involved David?
If not I'd tell her piano rental just went up $300 per month. Then I'd probably go elsewhere as you mentioned.

It's a shame for the kids involved as well.

There is so much wrong with this.
You are not a renter occupying space for your gain, but providing a free service at your expense for the benefit of the of the community center and the people they serve. Does the "lady in charge" volunteer her time or is she paid by the center? Maybe a $300.00 pay cut is in order.
If it is a "community center" is it funded by the city or is it a not for profit? If it is private, pack your bags, if it is held in the public trust, GOV or ORG, I would go to the board of directors and demand to know why they are charging volunteers for donating their time.
Were you singled out because you are rich or because you are white, either way that bold is face bigotry. Don't ever allow this type of elite or racism any quarter or rock to hide under. Go loud and go public.
My Ex use to volunteer her time at a community center teaching dance, what your wife is doing is a good and vital service.

Again, don't get too worked up over these convenient moralities from this loser. You'll find many of them if you stick around long enough and they always seem to be a handy on hand example of whatever the little jerk wad wants to rail about. Extremely convenient and the fact that there is no way to verify such stories makes the lying all that much easier for serial liars like this. Just hang around long enough and you'll see the pattern too. Mov'in on...

No, after a couple of years of using the piano they already had, my wife thought a new one was needed so we bought one & just had it delivered....no strings attached.

It's a church-afilliated non-profit but I'm sure they rely on state & federal money. The lady who runs it is a paid employee and she is also head of the board. I'm going to let my wife decide how she wants to proceed, if she wants to pay the "fee", we'll pay it...if she wants to try to work something out, we'll try...or if she thinks it's time to move on, we'll move on. At this point she's hurt & disappointed so we'll see what happens.

David I have to say that I am really sorry that this happened, your wife regardless of her financial situation, donating her time and experience for free as does your daughter (any one care to guess the cost of music lessons or instrements?). You have stated that you have donated equipment for free and good for you all. The ones who will end up suffering from this are the kids. I can also fully understand your wife feeling dissapointed and hurt by the actions of those running the place but what I can not understand is the attacks against you for posting this. Sorry guy's but I do feel that they are uncalled for. Wemight well disagree on some Isssues but helping those who have less than you is in my opinion a rather good thing to do.

Oh Pleeeeeease! Look at the title of this thread. Does the mocking tone used seem consistent with someone who generously donates time and money to the less fortunate? Certainly none of the other posts he has written show any type of sympathy for the less fortunate. They are all lazy losers in his opinion. Folks, if you fall for an obvious fake, that is your own inexperience with this particular loser. I've seen enough lying by him specifically over the years to never fall for it. Don't waste your time.

You honestly do not feel that someone can do something good for his fellow mankind without government forcing people to do so! The more you write here, the more obvious your prejudices, amorality, evil, etc. become.

He's pathetic, isn't he? Can't you just sense the rage building up, post by post? And all because reality doesn't conform to the liberal narrative for which he's fallen. Sad.
