Personally I have always thought the game could be made much more interesting by putting high explosives in the ball with a random number generator attached to the detonator. Each time the ball is kicked, the counter moves one click and the random number explodes the ball and the player when the magic number is reached. Ampers.

Perfect solution, if it were tied to charges under the grandstand as well. One ball, one player, one section! Could even end the after game riots!

If it goes into the net, irrespective: score two.
