I'm not sure he does. But I think he brings an "I could have a beer with him" energy that hasn't been effectively weaponized since dubya. He's kind of the anti-Vance, and I can't wait to see them debate. The GOP has gone full into culture war, and Vance is a poster boy for that. It was Walz who originated "weird" by responding to culture war whining with (paraphrase): "mind your own business and build a bridge"

I also appreciate that he's made many huge progressive moves in Minnesota with a razor thin majority,

 

I worked full time at several jobs for 6 of those years. You don't get to gatekeep being "from" somewhere.

 

I would find having a beer with Fidel Castro more interesting than having a beer with Walz. Plus, there's not quite as much "communist vibe" from Fidel.

Yes, he supported the burning of Minnesota cities, defund the police, and Kamala’s fund raising money to release the very few criminals that got arrested. Typically a VP makes little difference in a presidential campaign, but this pick is a blessing for republicans.

It's doubtful that anyone will get familiar with him since the election is only a few months away. Most of America has no clue who he is and probably couldn't care less. After the election, he will go back to Minnesota and become a footnote in history. For that matter, most of America doesn't know who Kamaltoe is and even fewer care about her. She too will feel what it's like to be a footnote.

 

See, this is why I like him, I think this is a winning message. It's so inverse to the ridiculous and exhausting culture war stuff the GOP is drowning itself in.
