Jebus Cripes! I'd say the fact that he had gasoline in his possession is quite telling as to his motivations. I cannot think of too many cases of robbery wherein a perpetrator will bring gasoline and a gun with him. This case is EXACTLY why our country should have more clauses worked into the letter of the law allowing for capitol punishment, or at the very least, life imprisonment, for violent crimes with a "cruel & unusual" nature to them.
This country is going to hell in a hand basket because of dumb ass politicians. New Jersey just abolished the death penalty even though around 85% of the population is in favor of the death penalty. Aren't we supposed to have a democratic republic form of government. It sure doesn't sound like they are doing a good job of representing the population. Unfortunately this is nationwide, I just used this as an example.

I debated the death penalty on another site and I made a direct case showing how people like this demote themselves from human to animal. And they should be treated as an animal, a vicious one. Interesting that over 80% of people also want stricter controls over things like abortion also. We are no longer a nation of democracy, we are a Nation of forced political correctness. I think I'm right in sayng that most people in the UK want a return to the death penalty. But we will never get a referendum on the issue. I always thought that democracy was all about the empowerment of the people. Clearly, the UK's politicians are not democracy minded at all. Neither will we get a referendum on mass immigration, repatriation, gun ownership, or anything else of interest to the citizen. No, politicians ideas of democracy, is that it concerns the empowerment of politicians, and nothing more.
Perhaps we are still a British colony at heart... status quo democracy stinks and is not democracy. But the death penalty is not the answer, I'm afraid. Hahahahaha
