Pleasant Memories of Islamic Justice....

(I told this story once before, but it's so good I just wanted to post it again on a slow Friday.)

It's pretty common knowledge that Muslim men really like to beat women, and once one went a little too far with an American female GI... This was an ugly incident which many of us cried tears laughing about later. While in the service stationed in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, Americans had free reign and could drive just about anyplace. Even to the beheadings at "Chop-Chop Square" on Friday afternoons. I never attended but there were those who never missed it...

Anyway one evening we were at the gold-market in Riyadh, this was in 1993. Five times a day prayer times were "Cat Called" from minarets. It just so happened we were shopping when they called a prayer time and all the jewelry shops started closing. The Americans & Brits would just mingle together and wait until the shops opened again, maybe 15-25 minutes.

Anyway there was this female black Master Sergeant who was with our group and she was the LIFE of the party, always cracking jokes and making us laugh our ass off, anyway she didn't feel like wearing the black robe (abaya) required by all coalition (Britain, France, USA, Germany) women when off the base and had it open in front and the hood off, just kinda draped over her shoulders. We weren't paying attention and this sneaky over-zealous Muttowa (sp) (a religious policeman) slips up behind our group and busts her butt with a short cane-pole and I mean he tore her up, winging a few of us who were too close to the action. She immediately let fly a few choice words and took off after this dude with the intent to kill him. The offending MUTTOWA never expecting a women to respond like that ran like a cat at the sound of a can opener. I mean he was running for his life. He raised such a ruckus that all the businesses just stopped and watched the event unfold. I never laughed so hard in my life after it all was over, after we caught her and got back to the truck. But the reports came in...:mouth: :mouth: :mouth: :mouth: :mouth: :mouth:

After explaining what happened one at a time, (on the carpet) to the Commander we ended up getting restricted to base Eskan Village for two weeks as minor punishment.
