And now we have _Thud!_. It also is excellent, but I noticed something annoying, which is a repeated referencing throughout the book to earlier novels, which reminds me all too much of the "product placement" business in movies, and which Pratchett hardly needs to do, and is unworthy of him and his books. I also thought the six-o'-clock reading business was overstated. More generally, I just realized (doh) the inconsistency in depicting trolls as normally dim-witted, except under cold conditions, when they're quite the opposite-- shouldn't that mean there'd be a very quick establishment of a very un-dim-witted troll culture in the mountains, etc., well able to technically handle their refrigeration needs elsewhere, in warmer climes and underground? Oh, well, it's a mistake to press recreational reading too hard. -- tinmimus99@hotmail.com smeeter 11 or maybe 12 mp 10 mhm 29x13 "The math is easy," said Chaos. < _Thief of Time_
