Please understand that in the time I've spent on this thread I have seen several people from the physics camp make claims like this only to be proven to have embellished thier claims when someone from the most honorable engineering camp reveals that these ingenuities were actually the creation of engineers. "led to" is not the same as created. For all I know, the magnetoresistive theory was some physicist's daydream about teleportation that a more rational human (engineer) took inspiration from to make something useful. floating gate transistor could have been some idea that a physicist got watching Stargate SG1 and an engineer took it out of dreamland and went somewhere with it.
