Yes, there ARE other hobbies besides coin collecting and I'll bet many of you participate in others. I thought that it might be fun to find out what other favorite hobbies of yours are. Personally, I'm into model building (mostly Armor subjects), reading and playing video games. What are yours? Maybe you have some that are really cool!
Harbour Lights sculptures - Military (Civil War, WWI, WWII) - Metal Detecting - Movies (DVD only, 513 in inventory) - Pepsi collectibles - Vanmark figurines (Civil War) - Corgi Diecast (Military) - Great Lakes Ships (boatnerd) - Anchor Bay sculptures - Antiques - Coins - Vegas - Hunting & Fishing - Antique postcards (Lighthouses, ships).
LOL Far from it, I'm just a gravedigger by trade. Coin collecting is my main passion and gets most of my attention (and money). The others, I pick up a little here and a little there whenever I come upon something I don't already have. My wife just shakes her head and calls our house "the museum". The rather large DVD collection seems to lift the most eyebrows but them coins get the most WOWS!!
Well, now it would have to be "fishing" and that would have to be "fly fishing" or "dry fly fishing" Then would come food and eating. Finally it would be fishing all over again!!1
I never thought of fishing as a hobby, it's more of a way of life. I live in Illinois where the fishing stinks but I have a friend with a private fishing pond a couple blocks from my house and fishing don'r get any better than there.
I'll second that on the fly fishing Don't do near enough of it anymore though. I also collect knives - used to collect guns as well quite a few years ago. Any spare time I have left - I spend researching coins.
Filmmaking! I've helped with a Short Film. Coins, Toys, Dvd's, I like some Military stuff, we have two Army Jeeps: a 1953 and a 1942. Do TONS of other stuff!!! SM
OldDan, what's the difference between fly fishing and dry fly fishing? I used to fish quite a bit myself...mostly with a worm. I always liked hooking those largemouths!
StopMotion, what kind of short film have you made? GD, do you collect mass-produced knives, or handmade? Steve E, 513 DVDs...WOW! And I thought I had a lot of CDs. I probably used to have 400 or so. I sold about 100 CDs last year (mostly because my wife told me I needed to, and to help finance some other hobbies ). What kinds of DVDs do you have mostly? Sci-Fi, Action, Television Series, Romance ?
It's about a boy in the 1960's who gets a dollar from his Grandma and fantasies how to spend it. He looks to the back of his favorite comic book at all the novelty ads. He is a Monster Kid! SM
It's about a boy in the 1960's who gets a dollar from his Grandma and fantasies how to spend it. He looks to the back of his favorite comic book at all the novelty ads. He is a Monster Kid! It has been in about 15 Festivals, and has just Won a big Monster Award. It was COOL to make! SM
When dry fly fishing you only use those patters of "flys" that lay upon the water when cast. The thrill comes when "old Charley" comes up off the bottom of the lake or stream and opens his mouth and takes the fly. Right there before your eyes and then the battle is on. You play him quick as possible and then bend down and remove the barbless hook. It don't get any better than that. It can be spiced up a little with the use of 2 and 3 oz rods and lines to match. Even the 12" fish feel like monsters. Try it , i'm betting you will like it. Now you have gone and done it!!! After writing this I've decided to go fishing this afternoon. Wish me luck.
With some of them there was more than one made, but none of them are mass produced. A few are unique.
JEEPs Or actually rockcrawing. a jeep is a money pit you can keep buying stuff for and never get it completed. I've had my YJ since 99 and still have 100k of upgrades to do.
