I was raised to respect those who are older for most likely they are wiser from the experience of life itself. If you haven't noticed but a rah-rah version of Islam is being taught in our schools as cultural awareness yet where my son goes to school no one is allowed to say Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, no class holiday parties or exchanging of holiday cards during that time of year. But it is ok to praise allah and Islam as a religion of peace. The left knowing or unknowing is being used by those who hate us to undermine our resolve and take away what used to bind us as a United States.
i am very proud to say that if such actions were to become a practice here in our schools, the entire school board would be tared and feathered and run out of town on a rail. We don't honor what the California Judges happen to rule and usually if its a mater of being PC or not, we politely excuse ourselves and go about our business giving Pledges and having celebrations for the various holidays, same as always.
If only wisdom and age went hand in hand we'd all be better off. More often though, the stupidity or in this case bigotry of youth is sewn into the fabric of the years. I personally like the optimism and open mindedness of the younger generation. The young may have their flaws, but being young at least they have an excuse. What do excuse do the elderly have for not learning compassion?
Then I guess you have no compassion for the tens of thousands of non-muslims being slaughtered every year around the world for not believing in Allah.

There is massive slaughter going on around the world and we are in danger of another mass slaughter happening here and he wonders why it is being discussed. I wonder why it is not being discussed enough and I wonder how he can defend a position without knowing the players or even reading the Koran which is the playbook. It is like the western leaders who thought they made peace with Hitler without reading his book Mein Kamph. Everything was laid out just like it is in the Koran.
It's interesting that you are worried about a mass slaughter. It has been going on for decades. The 5 largest arms traders in the world are the U.S, the U.K., France, Russia, and China. The guns these 5 countries supply to the third world kill more innocents than Osama could ever dream of killing. And you talk about slaughters. Your taxes and government supply the world with more arms than there are Muslims on the planet. Oh yeah, the 5 permanent members of the U.N. are the U.S, the U.K., France, Russia, and China. Makes ya think...well it makes me think anyway.
You know the saying...if you're not a liberal by the time you are 21, you have no heart and if you are not a conservative by the time you're 30, you have no brain. Oh...so true!! I grew up in a Democratic house that even had pictures of JFK and FDR about! Things changed during the 1968 Democratic convention as I remember listening to my father cheer on the Chicago police to "Hit 'em, Hit 'em!!" as the hippies and losers of society tried to storm the convention hall. That's the day the democratic party died. The same hippies and "flowers in your hair" children that tried to storm the convention process shaved their beards, cut their hair, and eveuntually infiltrated the Democratic party, universities and mass media. 4 years later they nominated McGovern (one of most liberal politicans of his time) and have never looked back. The democratic party became the party of "don't worry, the government can fix everything because we are smarter than you and more caring. Individualism became evil as ONLY the government can fix all...if only we (democrats) have enough tax revenues to do so. After all, elect us and we will take from producers of this tax revenue and give it to those that want to stay home and watch the soaps. It is only "fair" and compassionate. It is a easy campaign...promote class warfare, scare senior citizens, promise to increase money for education (again), and bring up burnng black churches (the race card). After hearing it over and over as my taxes increased, I started to ask questions and it was Reagan that turned me toward the "right" side. After all, he didn't believe government was the answer and promoted individualism and a "can do" spirit. He cut marginal tax rates from a ridiculous 70% down to 28% and what happened? Tax revenues nearly doubled into the Federal treasury over his eight years. I know, I know...the whinners will bring up the deficit and my only contention is if congress just kept spending in line with inflation, the end of the 80's would have had a huge surplus. After all, just because you double your income doesn't mean you should triple your spending. If you get a raise, do you spend more than your new income level? Even many democrats will call a projected increase in spending of 10% to 5% a "cut" and pull on stupid people's heart strings with items like the school lunch program (that was never cut at all) or seniors being thrown into the streets. Unfortunately, today's republicans are so afraid to cut anything because of this class warfare...so they are spending our tax revenue on many pork projects like the "bridge to no where" and a bunch of "sensitive" projects. Both parties are afraid to tackle the mess of millions of illegals crossing our border and eating up all of OUR social service's budgets. I call it "Hispania"...a term that describes any politician of doing what is right about our southern borders. What is right is to put our troops there, build a "Berlin Wall" to keep illegals OUT (the Berlin Wall was actually erected to keep people in the city and to prevent its citizens of escaping to the West), and deport illegals ASAP. After all, if they are illegal and if you support illegals, you are supporting criminal behavior. don't try to sugarcoat it...if you support illegal immigrants, you are supporting a crime. Let immigrants come here legally and through due process. Many do and become tax revenue producing citizens and contribute to their community versus the illegals that "suck our resources" dry. I have a lot of respect to our elders like Old Dan as they were people that never asked the government for hand outs and realized if you want to improve your standing in the community, you worked for it. After all, have you ever known anybody that appreciated a "hand out" more so than people that worked for it? It is just human nature...you work hard for something, you take stock in it. You are handed something, you just use it and throw it away until the next hand-out. Then you expect the hand outs and believe it is owed to you. Not getting enough? don't worry, we will take from the producers (more) and redistribute to people that vote for us. What a racket!
