This doesn't really mean anything, just curious, as I never see it asked. Do you believe in the devil? (Don't take me wrong, I'm not anywhere near a satanist!) Just a different topic to discuss, might be interesting. :)

great trick shot player, most over rated player ever. First world cup he kicked the winning goal for the other team into his own net.
last world cup he pulled out because of cramps, some team captain.
Rooney much better as a solid player.
    Manchestor united.

Satan is just a counter point to God, I do not believe in a god thus I do not believe in anything born out of that myth such as Satan. That would be like denying the existence of Zeus but believing in Hades. In a way, I dont like the concept of Evil and Good because that somehow removes some responsibility for ones action...the devil made me do it....it was gods will. Although I do think there are objective wrongs and rights.

Those who worship a god and those who worship Satan...and even Atheists...They all have one thing in common. They all have faith in something they cannot know... Those who worship God have faith that there is an all knowing, all powerful being that created all that is and that Satan, as a part of the story, exists as well....Satanists have faith that God exists as well as Satan....they just take the other side. Atheist have faith that neither god or the devil exist. It takes faith because in our world the existence of such things is not readily apparent thus one must believe and have faith to draw a conclusion with no solid facts. If they know...it is subjective knowledge that cannot be proven...unless one witnesses proof (like Moses parting the sea) then it can only be secondhand info. Someone telling you its true.

Phoenix, do me a favor. Tell me, have you seen proof of God and the Devil? If so, what are they...I am not asking if you have read something someone has written that convinced you, but if you have, yourself, witnessed the divine or witnessed something that removed all doubt. Do you KNOW there is a God? or do you rely on faith? Or are the two the same in your opinion.

    faith
    1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.
    2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

Sometime the meaning of faith as it pertains to religion seems to be more like 'I know'

Yes. But Satan isn't a counterpoint to God. Even the Devil is subordinate to, and created by, God's sovereignty. Doesn't that mean then that God is the creator of evil? Short answer? No. Long answer? Still no, but Ion't have time to explain, as I'm on the taxpayer's dime right now.

By counterpoint I did not mean they were somehow equal in the mythos but that traditionally Satan is the embodiment of evil, punishment for those who do evil in life (that probably means those who do not believe in god as well) and that god (or Jesus) is the embodiment of good and to believe and follow Jesus is right and good, to follow the example of Satan is bad or evil. Heaven and hell...one being the place one goes if you have lived a good life and accepted Jesus, the other is where you go to be punished....they are pretty much counterpoints...good and evil...wrong and right....Christ and antichrist...etc...to a christian I can see that you will of course think Jesus and God are superior and the two are not equal...but in the end, the two stand in opposition.

I watched an interesting show the other day about alternative stories that did not make it into the bible as we know it...one was a Gnostic text that said the old testament god was evil...he created the universe by accident...the new testament god was good...and a different god...it was interesting to hear about all the alternative stories that did not make the final cut because they did not follow the message early church leaders thought was important but other DID think they were valid. One version of revelations said we will all be saved and go to heaven in the end...I can see why that one was cut. :)

I have. I haven't "seen" with my physical eyes, but I've experienced both sides. I've experienced and seen divine, and evil. I've experienced torment, and I've experience divine help. I used to have problem with something honestly. I wanted to stop, but at times I felt like I couldn't. (No, it's not drugs or alcohol.) But, when I would pray to God, and ask His for His help, I'd recieve it. When I would think on doing something bad, things would happen that would prevent me, or atleast attempt at preventing me from doing it. It's not a mere coincidence, when it happens more than once. It's one of those things you have to sort of be there to really get the jist of what I'm saying.

Then, there's the evil. The hate, the torment, just feeling it and experiencing it, I have no doubt that the devil exists. Being tormented with thoughts you know aren't yours. (No, I'm not a crazy, or a shcizo, or anything of that sorts. ;)) It's just what I've experience. The Bible talks about being tormented, but needing to hang in there. That's my proof for me that the devil is real, however, it's personal evidence, not something I can use to convince you really IMO. But you asked for my experience, and I gave it to you. also, I have pictures of supernatural stuff that I've taken myself, (ghosts), that I know for a fact are a 100% authentic, because, well, I took them. :D Take care man. And please don't take me as being in your face, or anything, I'm just throwing stuff out there really, and letting you and everyone else chew on them for the sake of discussion and learning. :)

No problem at all, I just wanted to know where you are coming from, it seems you have experienced things that have convinced you these things are real, more power to you, honestly.
