Hmf, you didn't quote the path, but Google Groups shows it coming from
roadrunner.com and injected by newshosting.com (no surprise there) and
actually being _passed through Giganews_ to Google, but Giganews isn't
showing it, so they've shut it off to and maybe cleaned it out of their
own servers, and are presumably no longer propagating it.

I think the same sporger has been hitting rasfw, too, but again I couldn't
see it in the Giganews list.

'Coz yer on one of the worst offenders (usenetserver.com)? I dunno.

What's weird is that one you showed had a giganews.com MID-- presenting us
with the enchanting spectacle of Giganews being bombarded with a flood of
    wotever bearing bot-generated false Giganews MIDs . . . .

Okay. Worst offenders of WHAT? Trolling? Or forging (if that's even
the right term???), or spam, or something? I guess I'm so out of the
loop on this stuff I can't even begin to comprehend.

All I know is, some guy posted as "Mimus" with your email address, and I
knew it wasn't you, so I checked the headers, and by then, four other
    people had been (obviously) forged.

    >What's weird is that one you showed had a giganews.com MID-- presenting us

    >wotever bearing bot-generated false Giganews MIDs . . . .

Maybe if there was some way you can make sense of things you just said
such as "bot-generated" or "MID" for me, I might be able to comprehend
this "big picture" a little bit better. Break that last paragraph down
to simple terms, if you could.

Spam 'n' floods. I don't really know that they're one of the worst. I'm
sure one can look that up somewhere. I've seen spam 'n' floods from 'em.

Well, if I remember correctly, the Usenet message forging me, which I
examined on Google Groups (and thus the copy on their server), originated
from either roadrunner.com or newshosting.com, according to the Path
header, and got passed from newshosting.com via Giganews to Google Groups,
which meant that Giganews was passing on a Usenet post with a Message-ID
(MID), obviously false, supposedly from Giganews itself.

The "bot" I referred to is the program generating the false posts, which
is also generating false Message-IDs for those posts supposedly from legit
servers, presumably in each case from the server that the person being
forged has been posting from, in my case Giganews.

    Selah.
