What is your take on this? I would like to hear Mr. Schiff's take. https://www.wsj.com/articles/saudi-...ings-ahead-of-opec-production-cut-11665504230
Biden has been wrong on foreign policy his entire career. The puppet masters pulling his strings now, want it to continue. He is driving a formerly friendly country into the China/Russia Camp while cutting our oil production and destroying our boarders at the same time. Ignorant Americans and enemies of our country inside the government and education have destroyed us BEYOND Recovery. You'll see.
From the article "RIYADH, Saudi Arabia—Days before a major oil-production cut by OPEC and its Russia-led allies, U.S. officials called their counterparts in Saudi Arabia and other big Gulf producers with an urgent appeal—delay the decision for another month, according to people familiar with the talks. The answer: a resounding no." "U.S. officials warned Saudi leaders that a cut would be viewed as a clear choice by Riyadh to side with Russia in the Ukraine war and that the move would weaken already-waning support in Washington for the kingdom, the people said." "Saudi officials dismissed the requests, which they viewed as a political gambit by the Biden administration to avoid bad news ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, on which control of Congress hangs. High gas prices and inflation have been central issues in the campaign." "The one-month delay requested by Washington would have meant a production cut made in the days before the election, too late to have much effect on consumers’ wallets ahead of the vote. Since the OPEC+ decision, the White House vowed to fight OPEC’s control of the energy market. Lawmakers from across the political spectrum called on the U.S. to cut off arms sales to Saudi Arabia. And U.S. officials started looking for ways to punish Riyadh." "Saudi officials told their American counterparts that they believed the oil market could collapse if they didn’t act, and fall to $50 a barrel—a move they feared would imperil the kingdom’s Vision 2030 economic plan to diversify its economy, said people familiar with the matter." "To entice the Saudis to delay their decision, U.S. officials told the kingdom they would buy oil on the market to replenish Washington’s strategic stockpiles if the price of Brent, the main international benchmark, fell to $75 a barrel, according to U.S. officials and people inside the Saudi government."
Saudis are a cult of elitists that deserve our scorn. There is nothing good about the Saudi Regime. They murder, they oppress women, they attack their neighbors, they are anti-democratic, they are tribal. Let them drink their damn oil. The world would be a better place without a Saudi Arabia. They add nothing to the world but their own greed and gluttony. In case you were wondering, I don't like the Saudis at all.
Darn, Joe, I must agree with much of your post. However, it is very short sided to dump them. Informed, knowledgeable folks know why the U.S. must ignore things we should not like in their culture. Unfortunately, you have shown where you fall on this subject.
To state that the OPEC...and Saudi Arabia individually, if you prefer....is the bad guy, is a silly position for anybody to espouse. Exactly what was cut and how much of a real impact? Bupkus. It is tail wagging the dog at best, designed to re-direct the anger of The People in any country whose government has been foolish enough to place their country in economic strife caused by foolish choices by the U.S. and world governments, toward a common enemy. Diversion of blame to the other guy is always convenient. The proper response can begin tomorrow, drill baby drill.
I guess I am reading more into this than is there. But damn - the similarities just causes me to reminisce about a phone transcript from July of 2019.
Please. The Stage for the present oil market was set in 77 at the birth of the Carter Doctrine. Everything since is disingenuous saber rattling to continue control.
You don't see veiled threats and bribes hijacking foreign policy for the sole purpose of influencing the mid-term elections?
Exactly what do you think occurred in late 75? And late 79? And 84...and...savvy? I am sure you understand the use of "birth" , when identifying the beginning of a path. The same silliness has happened in every country in every election ever held in history. The proof that a certain percentage of the population believes in the tail wagging the dog blarney, is your whataboutism type questions.
What does OPEC stand for? Oh and BTW. Well, Ham, you HAVE SHOWN A FEAR to actually engage and answer direct questions! Focus: @freshmeat Please define an educated man for us. After that, please tell me the correct answer for YOUR speed of light question. What are you afraid of Ham? I've been asking you to reply for days. You acted as if you know the answers when you brought both these things up in your posts! Otherwise "Ham," you can continue to scratch, scratch, dodge, duck, grunt, bite the head off the Knight, and crap the floor and the thread.
Serious? You don't know OPEC? Back in the late 70's and early oil price problems I had the vanity plate on my charger 'opecsux'
No, posting nonsense by pulling your chain out of frustration due to your lack of engagement such as "Oh my" in another thread. Thins must be boring for you after work at night in Communist China. The should give you guys female escorts. I'll bet you would engage with them rather than dodge, duck, questions as you usually do.
But didn't the environment change in 2019 when Congress determined a Quid Pro Quo with a foreign government by the President for the purpose of influencing a US election is an impeachable offence.?
