The world has been in trouble since Mohammad stopped raiding carvans and instead started to raid villages, towns, and cities.
The first step is to recognize the problem and not to keep on ignoring it or make excuses for it.
The second step is to get off arab oil and stop feeding them wealth which they use to control our politicans and others around the world.
The third step is to push for women's rights in any part of the world that we can for that would undermine islamic foundation as well as advocate what we are suppose to be about.
The fourth step is to stop funding nations that preach hate to the young in their cartoons to kids, in their newsbroadcasts, in their school books, in their mosques, in their leaders speeches that are said at home which includes Egypt and Pakistan etc.
It is not something that can happen with a quick fix or over night, It would have to be thought as changing the future generations so they are not raised as beng brainwashed to hate, to kill.

 

The world has also had trouble since European Christians decided that everyone was going to enjoy the enlightened benefits of Christianity whether they wanted to or not. Or else. But that aside I agree with your second step and pretty much with the fourth one too. As for pushing rights of any kind, a la #3, I donno. For one thing America's moral high horse is more of a pot-bellied pig at the moment. I think it would be more productive for us to focus on protecting women's rights here at home in the face of attacks by our own Christian Taliban thereby providing a living example to the world of how it should be done.

 

It might also be a good idea for us to focus on protecting all human life here at home in the face of attacks by our own Liberal Left...

 

I assume you are talking about legal abortion. I'd suggest you get serious and work on a Constitutional amendment forbidding it thereby just getting it over with. Surely the popular support is there. Isn't it? Otherwise it will be an issue from now until forever. Which is quite possibly exactly what many RWers would like.
