    He prefers the term Afroindomerican.

If that's what he prefers then we should respect his wishes and refer to him as that. I prefer that you call me "God".

I will gladly call you Dog, but I absolutely refuse to believe that you are an imaginary old man with super powers.

Sorry, but I prefer you to call me "God". It's a heritage thing. Thank you for understanding.

You haven't realized yet that you are still the only one that pretends to be offended by the use of these terms? Is it some sort of neurosis restricted to your gene set that the rest of us didn't seem to be born with or is it as I have said many times - You are just and angry old rural white guy living in a red state incapable of talking intelligently about issues of race and society so you try to change every topic to this silly phony holier than thou PC crap that makes absolutely no sense?

I see stuff like this in the newspaper everyday.

    "residents reported a black male....."

"security spotted two white males and a white female on tape...."

"an hispanic male was spotted running from the area..."

"due to the chopsticks, Kim Chee, rice and some really gross looking dried fish authorities think the suspects may be Asian."

OK, I went overboard on the last one.

    Now the disclaimer.

For the record I am just giving rough examples (I made them up) not real stories but if anyone here hasn't seen the use of the words black, white, hispanic, asian etc. in the local newspaper they are rather isolated.

    I can actually understand that.
On the other hand if you're zipping all over the net looking for information or "information" to bash an opponent I would surmise one may have seen these terms used in common parlance.

I could be wrong though. It could be anything.

Perhaps there is a post election November surprise?

You're just a liberal jerk who insists on using outdated, racial terms in describing a person's skin color. The question I have is WHY you're using these terms to describe a person's skin color. You're simply an old man in an overwhelmingly liberal state who has a skewed 1930's-era philosophy on the separation of the human race based on skin color. You think you're an intelligent, progressive, non-judgmental person but when you stop to look at yourself in the mirror all you see is discrimination. Thank God your racial ideals and tendencies are becoming a dying breed.

Yes, calling me names and listening to every single pundit on every single media outlet use both the terms black and white to describe races during this entire election cycle completely vindicates your irrational stance. You are so God damn weird.

Don't you, much less the pundits on your liberal blogs, think it's about time you stopped using such racially-insensitive terms? Do you really think that people enjoy being labeled as "black" or "white" based solely on their skin color? You're such a prejudiced idiot.

Some people making a point of "ignoring" the fact that people have different skin tones and different subcultures will not prevent discrimination. Our society is not colorblind; racial prejudice is still a force to be reckoned with.

Though I don't agree with everything said in the article from which the quote below comes, it does serve as an introduction to understanding why putative "colorblindness" is problematic.

Unlike your attempts to do so, race issues cannot be swept under the rug by focussing exclusively on semantics. We have a racist element in this country and we have plenty of history to support that fact and all you can do is play with language rather than intelligently address the issues because as a Republican it makes you feel better about yourself. You are pretty pathetic and juvenile and a huge reason why we even have racial problems in his country. You ARE the problem that needs to be addressed by the eventual solution.

Exactly Rec! Most discussions of racial inequality in this country focus on white privilege. The problem with that approach is that it creates an us vs. them dynamic. The correct approach is to celebrate all cultures and to recognize the inequalities inherent in the current system that prevent equal access to opportunities for people of all cultural backgrounds. All Coin is capable of is ignoring the problem while sitting in his position at the top of the social ladder. Typical Right-winger.

Perhaps if people like you would stop using racially-insensitive terms like "black", the level of racism in this country would diminish. I'm not colorblind, by the way. I can see the difference in skin coloration. But, unlike you, I don't consider skin tone a factor in determining someone's heritage. You also use it as a means in determining so-called "minority" status. Perhaps if people like you would also stop considering other human beings as "minorities" instead of "equals" racism might cease to exist. But, as long as people like you continue to divide this country along racial lines then none of us will ever be equal. You're a pathetic racist. I've known that for quite some time. Don't you think it's time you admitted it to yourself? You still have an opportunity to change, you know.

The "terms" aren't the problem. It's the attitudes of people like you and your political party that need to change. When a political party has so little support from minority voters, it should clue that party in that they have a problem with minorities. Ya think?

The problem with people like you is that you insist on segragating the populace into groups: minority and majority, black and white, rich and poor, gay and straight or whatever discriminatory label du jour you happen to pick. We're all people, man; all part of the human race. Stop your prejudicial labels of our fellow human beings and maybe the discrimination will stop.

Well, we know YOU aren't colorblind. In fact, you base all your arguments on people being "black" or "white" or whatever. You need to loosen up a bit and quit being so racist.
