This is going to drive the RW’ers insane. Even though Bush used executive orders over 60 times while he was in office, even though the current obstructionist do-nothing congress is thwarting the will of the American people as pointed out in poll after poll, and even though the people that put the “Con” in congress have but one goal and that is to defeat a Democrat president regardless of the consequences for the country, this will be the talking point for the next year. Obama the dictator, Obama the king, Obama bypassing congress, blah, blah, blah… Never mind that they are acting like they should have the only say even though they were not elected leader of the country, they will kick up a fuss just the same. Get ready for the whining. I say good for him. The Cons had their chance to work with him and refused. Now they are irrelevant.

WH: Obama to Use Executive Authority More
ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- President Obama likely will use executive orders more often as he does all he can to grow the economy and spur job creation, a White House aide said Monday.
Changes by executive order don't "substitute for the action that Congress absolutely must and should take … it is simply a part of doing everything you can: Focusing on what is the No. 1 issue for most Americans, which is an economy that's not growing fast enough, an economy that's not creating enough jobs," White House spokesman Jay Carney said during a media briefing aboard Air Force One en route to Las Vegas.

Dims control 2/3 of the gov't- the White House & the Senate today. They had complete control of the gov't during BO's first 2 years in addition to controlling the Senate & House during the last 2 years of Bush's presidency. Basically, we have endured 6 years of Dim control...so let's not lose sight of who has had the power in Washington.

Look up the term filibuster some time. Then look up the number of filibusters the Cons have used in that same time period. BTW It is a record number.

If "Executive Order" is okay for BO to use in this instance, why wasn't it in the past?

Sorry, I forgot, let me go slower......If BO is capabale of using Executive Order today to get what he wants, why didn't he use it to get other things he wanted (rather than blame his failings on "obstructionism")?

The short answer is: "He did" and "they were obstructionists".
    The long answer is:
I can't think of one intelligent person in this country that wouldn't call the Cons approach to Obama's policies anything but obstructionism. Simply count the number of filibusters. There just isn't another word that captures their behavior any more accurately. The fact is that Obama has used executive orders dozens of times so far. He did try to build a consensus and tried to work in a bipartisan manner for far too long in my opinion. He just didn't realize what a bunch of %@#!*% he was up against. I think his first term was an education that will undoubtedly be applied to his second term. Was that slow enough for you to grasp?

I am sorry you lead such a lonesome life exiled from reality. Nearly all of my acquaintances want the Republicans to do obstructionism (to borrow you word) to the max. However, I will freely admit there are a few more out there beside yourself who believe to the contrary.

Executive Authority can't be blamed or attributed to someone else. Color me skeptical about any bold stuff. Minor stuff that will look good in 2012 but will be of limited effect, probably.

Hey, if he can use some Executive Orders to help stimulate the economy, I say "go for it". If it would stimulate the economy, I wouldn't mind if he did a rain dance or howled at the moon at this point; nothing else he's tried so far has worked. So, go dance and howl at the moon, Obama!! Hurry!

It is one's duty to stand up against legislation that is harmful to the country. But again, why would BO accept the "obstuctionism" when he can merely us Executive Order to get his schemes enacted? My guess would be he has as much resistance to his failed ideology from the left as he does on the right.

I'd have to ask what was it he tried that didn't work? I know that there has been plenty he has tried to get past the filibuster happy congress but actual implemented programs have been few and far between. Who knows what the economy would be like right now if he had a free hand to do as he pleased? This economy is at least as much congress' fault as his. The political system is just so broken that it is incapable of solving our problems economic or otherwise. I wonder if money has anything to do with the dysfunctional congress?

Those are some pretty silly assumptions. He isn't accepting obstructionism. He is bypassing the congress. They have offered not one piece of legislation to help this economy. It’s almost as if they want this country to fail. Could it be that the failed ideology of the Right just can't let go of the exact same policies that have failed for 30 years because their constituency is actually winning? Oh yeah!

If the right wanted this country to fail it would allow BO free reign to administer his far left agenda unfettered.

So they must have a plan of their own. What is it?

When you post something like this you only live up to the silliness you spew of never listening to anything coming from the right. I have neither the time nor the inclination to do the research for you so I will remind you of what you have said ad nauseum...do your own research.

Are trying to say that the plan the RW'ers have is so hidden that you'd haver to research the internet to find it? Can't you just explain it to me in a sentence or two? Why not save yourself the time and admit that they don't have one. They haven't put any legislation up. And they have done nothing but block everything that has been put out there with a record setting number of filibusters. Or is reality too real for you?

I was hoping Obama would begin using the powers of the Presidency (as enhanced by Jr.) to lead the country in the direction it needs to go. At this point in time it's necessary. Time will tell what he does with that power, I have faith it's in better hands than previous administrations.
