Perhaps you could post a chart of our national debt? 10.6 trillion when W left office, where are we now after only 3 years 3 months under Obama.......I am very curious as to what the numbers are? The Bush spending didn't stop when he left office. Much of what he implemented like Medicare Part D, two massive taxes cuts, and two wars off-budget, continue to add to the deficit. I think that you are right about Clinton. We should go back to the tax rates we paid under Clinton.
All that shows me is that I absolutely should not vote for either Bush or Obama in this election if I want spending to not continue at historically ridiculous and nation damaging levels.
I'd agree with that point Stu, but not on the "all it shows" part. It is at ridiculous levels, true...and I too don't like it, or believe it's sustainable (at the current tax rates). I have one question though, and that is: Are the figures adjusted for inflation? Even in ten years, the difference between the buying power of the dollar is significant.

I notice there's not a lot of denying the statistics going on. Would seem to indicate to me that the Repigs haven't got much in the way of a refutal. And if AZJ and cents would actually look at the graphs rather than going into knee jerk Faux mode they would see that the large one covers 50 years. It might feel like Bush's regime lasted 50 years, but it I believe it was really quite a bit less.
