Obama speech today reinvigorates human beings

I thought it was great today when our President tells it like it is. Paraphrasing..he basically reminded us all that the right wing agenda has already been tried and has failed miserably. He reminded us the last decade has proven the right takes us absolutely nowhere except into the dumpster. Bravo Mr. President! All of the bi*tching and moaning you hear from the right and the results they produced and they "want the keys back". I love it! Run on absolutely nothing and simply try to block any and every thing the man tries to do good, bad and indifferent. This after they brought us to the brink of economic collapse, admit nothing and offer to do more of the same. Screw everything up, do nothing, then b*tch when someone else tries to address the problems they created. Un-friggin believable. Mr. Tanman and the "we support the mega wealthy" Mr. Graham go steaming along like the ass*s they are, while the half ex-governor (the "elect me and I'll quit" candidate) of Alaska and some old crusty, nearly invalid, emptiest head since George Jr., and failed Republican "best to offer" candidate spends 20 million to get an 80k job in Airheadzona (and complain about deficits while doing so)....steam proudly along and act like nothing ever happened before Obama. Forget about the past 10 year and refocus of imperfections of the past year and a half. All the lot screams for tax relief for the mega wealthy while complaining about deficits (except when they are the recipients of MORE cash). Is it any wonder our smoke and mirrors economy is anything except a bad joke?
Mr. O is in campaign mode now though, so at least he'll make no bones about shining a light on the cockroaches as they scatter. It'll be great entertainment anyway as we watch the right run on nothing but greed and hypocrisy as is the norm. Can't wait till O shows the right's own words and actions for what they really are, instead of what they claim to be running on.Oh wait....they aren't running ON anything..just against humanity!

 

Running against everything you stand for would be a dynamite campaign strategy IMO.

 

Corporate greed would run me down.....no doubt. Probably hit me over the head with one of their expensive champagne bottles and kill me. Then send a card to my wife...."Sorry honey....it's just business".

 

I did not realize we needed a speech to get reinvigorated. Jobs would do a better job of reinvigorating the people I know. On the other hand, I guess the lemmings out there needed a boost.

And then there is "corporate greed". Let's see. Corporations have no greed, they make no money. When they make no money, they lay people off (or they are too big to fail and they get bailed out by the government). The people who got laid off, get unemployment from the government, so the government has to raise taxes on the greedy corporations. So what do the corporations do? They lay more people off. More unemployment = more taxes = more lay offs = ... = ... That sounds exactly like what the lemmings need.

On the flip side, when greedy corporations make money (and they have a known stable future), they can hire more people to make more money = hire more = more money = ... = ... But then there are those lemmings out there who get reinvigorated by a speech and cannot see past the greedy corporations and a great speech.

 

I dont know of any businesses that were taxed out of business. Do you know of any? And I think there is a difference between making money and greed. And I am guessing when you say lemmings that you mean lefties. But I bet there are alot of righties who were praying for that extension of unemployment benefits too. But maybe that isnt what you meant. And yes there are many times in US history that we needed speeches to reinvigorate us. FDR's 'Fear', Reagan's 'Run but cant hide', Bush's 'Ground Zero' all come to mind. Cynics like you and me may not need them, but I think they are helpful to the hoi polloi.

 

I think BO realizes he needs to rally his "base". An NBC/WSJ poll claims, of people who feel BO is doing a good job (which is only a little over 1/3 the country), 75% of them do not plan on voting in November- Chuck Todd says most are minorities and these are the people who, if they voted, would vote the straight Obama agenda. Think about it, only 25% of 1/3 of the country is expected to vote the BO ticket...no wonder so many dem candidates are fleeing.

 

Well you have a point there. If greedy corporations could just keep making extreme profit, hand over fist, then we could build more Walmarts and hire thousands of workers for only several hundred dollars, thus expanding the ultra low income society and have even more for the ultra rich. Eventually, all the middle class could be wiped out and forced to work for sh*t pay and provide for the privileged. Makes sense.
So...lemme get this straight. The ultra rich will stop trying to be ultra richer if they have to pay too much of their excess income towards the betterment of society as a whole? The ultra greedy will stop being ultra greedy and stop trying to "invest" their excessive capital and stop trying to redouble their cash? Really? Cool....by default, that would mean we could shut down the corporations? The exploitation of the masses? For real?!? Way cool! I say we tax the living sh*t out of them then in that case!
On the other hand....we could just plod along and HOPE that the big bad corporations find it i their hearts to keeping under employing and over exploiting the largest percentage of people, and HOPE the big boys will let us survive to keep serving them, and keep quiet and be thankful that we are all able to split up the pennies that fall out of their pockets as they stuff theirs with trillions. We'd better HOPE that yacht sales increase and imported cigars lit and served up by the peasants that they allow us to serve them don't take all their marbles and go home.
In short....continue to expand poverty and further enslave the masses to be able better serve their masters and be happy for whatever is left over along the way, or take a small percentage extra from the people that already have a thousand times more than they could ever spend in their lifetimes personally. Summarily shut up and take the 37 cents annually that they're offering and pray they don't make us work for even less, while in the meantime, starve, stop driving, eat ramen noodles and boullion cubes to better accommadate our captors...I mean our masters. That or just get ultra rich yourself and F everybody else. Hmmm...that's almost as big a choice as deciding whether to cast my vote for a republican or for a democrat. Yup...that is a tough one.

 

I am sorry you feel that way Tom. Let me guess. You never worked hard enough to become one of the exploiters.

No...I wouldn't say that. I've definitely worked hard enough. I haven't had the F everybody at the cost of anybody or anything or the wall street "extract and scheme" kinda attitude though, I will have to admit. Guess that explains it huh?

One has to understand tomc-speak in order to understand his posts. To tomc an "exploiter" is anyone in a managerial-type role. In his world, there is no such thing as a mutually benefical decision made by a company, employer etc. To tomc, if a decision benefits the employer it automatically has to be detrimental to the employee. See the twisted logic?

 

To expand a little...he's just told us that the exploitation of human beings equates to being successful.
The Tanman, Mr. Boehner, would applaud you. George Jr. would put you on his staff to teach him the alphabet. Lindsey Graham would put you in charge of bubbly runs for 12 cents a week.

It sounds like you are saying A measure of success is being able to exploit your fellow man. That cant be what you meant. Or is it?

 

Using Tom's lingo and logic, I absolutely am saying that. Now, if you come back to reality, most people earn what they deserve.

 

Tom, you are a very talented and intelligent individual. Have you ever thought of taking your talents and setting out on your own? Dude, I did it with freakin hotsauce, seriously. I did. A freakin hobby and the internet made me almost famous. C'mon, who are you trying to kid.

Seriously dude....I bet with your mind, you could find something that both profits you and provides jobs for others. I dont care what party you are, talent is a key to exploitation ( yes I chose that word intentionally ) of the system...... those who have #1 determination and #2 those who have talent usually acheive it.

Example:

Those with talent, IE, Bill Gates, Henry Ford, Adoulphous Busch, so many examples, with drive achieved great riches.....and, provided jobs for milions of americans.....Did you bother going to school while working your 1st job.....did you complete highschool under tight circumstances? Was a student loan denied you? What exactly were you denied that the richest Americans got? Rich parents? I can knock that arguement down in a minute, dont go there.

The way I see it, if your born here, it is yours for the taking.....if your not born here, you have an even better chance of success !!


Those with determination and a hard working discipline, ( a very good example is the run of Asain and Indian convience store owners and workers) bust their ass, live 10 people to a 2 bedroom house, and eventualy become the American dream.......

Or, you can settle for your Walmart job and claim you were not given the same chance as the lucky few.......And hate your bosses for their wealth and education. Whats your choice? What choices have you made that reflect on your current situation?

My old situation was to die in an alley...I changed my direction...perhaps I can help you here. It does work, you just have to want to make it work.
