"That's why 90% of the American public supported it", but then says "The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill." Willfully lied? I will bet he could not find 90% of his own party to support it.

BTW, if you can find a picture of this crowd, everyone I have seen Biden looks like he has swallowed a cat.

 

Obama is just a sore loser. Anytime a president wants to diminish our Constitutional rights, the American people will fight back. Obama got a taste of that and he found out how bitter it is. Let that be a lesson to him. He needs to follow the Constitution he swore to uphold instead of trying to implement a socialist agenda. He needs to remember that "we the people" run this country and that he's not a dictator. Yet.

 

And once again, the Republican solution to a national tragedy is to do absolutely nothing and then denigrate the families of the victims as props. You must be so proud of YOUR victory. I just can't imagine.

Screw your question. What I want to know from anyone is if 90% of the country wants this type of sensible gun legislation, whose interests are being served here? Certainly not the American public's interests. The gun lobby seems to matter more than the children of this country to these A-hole Senators.

Just and an FYI:

The number of people that have been killed by terrorist in this country since 1970 = 3,000

The number of people in the US that have been killed (not just shot but killed) since 1980 = 900,000.

We have our own brand of terrorists in this country and they are the gun manufacturers profiting off of the dead children of this country.

 

And those comments are coming from someone who actually thinks gun registration should be expanded.

 

Can anyone explain to me how background checks would have changed what happened at Sandy Hook? Nancy Lanza legally owned all her firearms and passed the necessary background checks. Her son, Adam Lanza had no criminal record whatsoever and would have easily passed his own background checks for the guns had he not instead stolen them from his mother.

 

First of all, no one "solves" a national tragedy. Regardless, I'd like to hear YOUR solution to stopping the people who commit violence using a firearm as their weapon of choice.

 

The Republican Party IS the problem NOT the solution. They protect the rights of criminals.

Constitutional rights are NOT absolute nor were they intended to be. Not even the 1st Amendment is absolute. To hide behind the Constitution in order to arm criminals, terrorists, wife beaters, and mentally unstable people with any kind of weapon they want to buy is tantamount to being criminally stupid.
Apparently, there is no gun violence that would change the minds of the gun crowd. Someone could walk into every single elementary school in the country and kill every child they see and the gun crowd would only be interested in the rights of legal gun owners, in other words, themselves. There obviously is no crime, no matter how heinous that can come between the cowards in this country and their precious guns no matter the cost to society. Any price we all pay is just fine with them. Any elementary school, any church, any shopping mall, any movie theater, any public event, any workplace is unimportant to the gun crowd as long as they get to cuddle up to their guns at night. COWARDS! Stop hiding behind the 2nd Amendment.

You say we can change the Constitution (yes, we can but it was intentionally difficult to do so), but somehow we cannot change you. You still will not answer a direct question! BTW, a Congressional bill was not, is not, will not be, and should not be the methodology for changing the Constitution.
