Try reading this; http://www.prweforum.com/politics/29751-government-shutdown-why-we-will-never-get-out-mess.html
Well, that's because nobody ever said they were going to shut down the armed forces. It's just retarded to say either Democrats or Republicans wanted to shut down the military. Even if the budget didn't get passed and the government shut down, they'd have found a way to keep the military going.
Kept going, yes. Kept earning money, yes. Kept getting paid, nope! - not until the government get back to business.
It was just a Republican talking point and like all Republican talking points it had no basis in reality but it WAS said and therefore a percentage of low information voters take it as true without needing any real facts behind what they believe. It could have just as easily been said about the Republicans and been just as factual considering there were two sides of the negotiating table. Now it gets to live forever in one of the two brain cells these yahoos own.
OK well that was 8 pages of talk without a single link to a factual news story or whitehouse report that the President was saying the troops woudnt be paid! So again David do you have a link to a actual news article and not to another discussion
Government shutdown may get the job done - Fort Collins Republican | Examiner.com Time running out on budget » Standard-Times House Democrats : Kevin Trudeau Show
Thanks appreciated, will have a read later it's 1 in the morning here just noticed the time LOL off to bed
You mean the Republican talking point got repeated by the likes of the Fort Collins Republican Examiner and others so it must be true? You really have to stop believing everything you read.
OK well here we go 1st link not a single word about the President threatening not to pay the troops 2nd link opens with this "With time growing short, President Barack Obama said Wednesday night that he remains confident that a government shutdown can be avoided this weekend if negotiators can build on constructive talks held at the White House" but agasin not a single mention of the President threatening to cut off pay for the troops 3rd link finaly the troops get a mention "Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned Senate Republicans on Tuesday that if Congress didn’t approve the funds by month’s end, he could not pay the troops"But again not a single word that the President has threatend to cut of funding to the American armed forces This was the only mention of a Presidential veto in all 3 reports that I could see "Senate passage is complicated by a pending veto threat from President Obama. He objects to the House proposal to pay for the education fund by rescinding money for the administration’s “Race to the Top” initiative, which rewards academically improved schools with grants" Once again Thanks for those Links but they do not support David's assertions that President Obama thretend to cut off funding for the US Armed Forces
Here is where Bill O'Reilly told Senator Obama (he wasn't President at that time) that he wouldn't have the balls to invade Pakistan. What he should have said was, Bush didn't have the balls to do it, but Obama will. Go to about 5:40 into the video to hear the stuff about invading Pakistan.
