I have no idea Vess I thought it might well be useful if people could actualy read what was been said for themselfs rather than from a secondery source.
As I said previously as long as he stays away from politics then I see no problem with it.

Can you imagine the temerity of Obama thinking he can just go and talk to school children. What nerve. And the things he said. Jeez, do your homework. What kind of commie crap is that? Persevere and attend class. No one so many hate this guy. Next thing ya know he'll want kids to help with the chores and tell the truth. Impeach this dreamer.

He's got some balls don't he?

I watched it on YouTube and tried to look at it from a right wing perspective (pretty much way right IMHO). I heard the following:

"Yes we can" by the kid (Spicer) that introduced him.
    Obama said the words
    "Healthcare"
    "Envrironment"
    "Discrimination"

These are just a few. Attacking points for some I'm sure. Hell, it's developing as I type this and started hours ago I'm sure.

When you get down to it why should a high school kid, for example, worry about these things? It won't really affect them for a few years so why worry about it, look for solutions or set goals now?

Overall it was a good speech with a good message. Shame that some will only see it as another opportunity to twist the meaning and make it something ugly.

...and we know it's gonna happen.

I would love to have seen a copy of the draft of his original speech...you know the one he would have given before all the public outcry.

I would as well David. We agree on that assuming there was an original speech.

In the meantime what did you think of the one he gave?

I didn't see it but I heard it was a pretty good performance. It wasn't shown at my kid's school so I didn't make an effort to catch it.
Let me repeat this again though, I do not have a problem with this Prez or any other addressing our school kids, my problem was with the ciriculum the administration laid out surrounding the speech.

I asked my 2 kids about the speech and they said they liked it....because it got them out of Science Class.
