Are you learning impared? In CONTEXT they are ONE in 10 on the TOP because they are the TOP recipient and they have THE BEST record for voting WITH us!! This is GOOD IN CONTEXT hey are listed as ONE country in a list of more than 100 in alphebetical order as recipients of aid...along with egypt and a bunch of middle eastern countries!! IN CONTEXT Israel votes against us only 7% of the time...THIS Is GOOD. IN CONTEXT Egypt and Jordan votes against us more than 65% of the time...THIS IS BAD. Dont blame me for your inability to read and understand a chart that actually shows israel in a GOOD light...
Drusus, everything we (America) does to help Israel you find offensive. Well, you opinions are offensive to many Americans... Not just this example but going back to your slanted views months ago. I followed suit and did what you did on another thread, I went back and changed my original post. Just keeping you abreast of developments.
This example? I have not insulted israel...I painted them as the only one on a list of 10 that goes along with us almost every time...I dont hate israel at all, never have I said this as I dont feel this...I DO think we send them too much money...personal opinion...I DONT think they are perfect...I am NOT like you and think jews are better than me or the chosen ones...that just shows how truly nuts you are... I do NOT find everything america does for israel offensive...thats a lie...I just think we send them more money than we should...why do you always try to insinuate things about me? You just dont know... I dont know what you are talking about as to changing original posts...do whatever you want...I dont change posts...I might add to them...but I have never changed anything I have posted...I have never changed my views... I dont hate israel OR all muslims nor do I think all jews and muslims are perfect and right I think both have done bad things but now need to get along.
difference being only that you constantly say I am singing a different tune than I am...either because you arent reading what I say...or your own bias is causing you to misrepresent my beliefs and opinions. have I confused how you truly feel about israel and islam? ever? You hate islam...you adore israel.
I simply support Israel because they are fighting a war (in their own backyard) we in America cannot fight because #1, obvious geographical location, and #2, socio-political agendas. We very easily could be fighting the same enemy using the same weapons if Israel weren't on the wall. I look at Israel as a satellite of the USA, same values, the same goals. Israel is an outpost of democracy, one which (if it fell) would bring these Soldies of Allah ever closer. Therefor I support Israel with every ounce of my being...
You forgot that they are the chosen ones and superior to you... Bonedigger...If I love all of islam and loved and supported terrorism...would I say and feel these things? even in this thread I said: at the top of the list of nations we give money to ^^ this last one was right above the post in which you accuse me of painting israel in a bad light. Let me clarrify one last time, and then I will give up. I in no way was looking to paint israel in a bad light in my post. I made this statement in my list: about afghanistan and the list I posted showed that israel, unlike every other nation on the list of nations we give money to, actualy vote with us while we are giving money to nations that consistantly vote AGAINST us in the UN...this shows they ARE our ally and are with us...while the others are taking our money and stabbing us in the back. Do I think we might give them more money than we should and more than they need? Maybe...I talk to a jewish guy on a regular basis who served in the military there and whose nick name he uses is gen.arial.sharon and HE seems to think that WE give israel money so we will keep them in debt to us...that they DONT need all the money we give them...I tend to think they can stand more on their own and dont need so much but thats just a matter of opinion...I think they were right in the conflict with Hezzbolah and I think the palestinians are the ones who are not giving up and cannot be trusted to stop when they say they will... I have said over and over again that I dont see israel as perfect but I do not think they should go anywhere...they are there and arabs need to come to terms with that... I have said over and over again that there IS a problem in islam and terrorism and that these days I see Palestinians as the problem...and I am disgusted when I see imams calling jews pigs... I am not muslim, I am american born and bred in the south from generations back before the civil war...georgia, tenn., and texas. I do not nor would I cut a head off or suicide bomb anything...nor would any muslims I know and I know quite a few. (the ones who would would not call me a friend, they would hate me and shun me) These are truths about me and how I feel about terrorists and radical islam... I am offering a truce bonedigger...I do not think anything I say or do would change your mind and stop you from using this forum to crusade against what you label as 'true' islam...I will do my best to let this slide without comment...just know that I am not an appeaser...I take people as they come...one by one...I know too many nice muslims to ever call all terrorists 'true' muslims and the millions of ismaili that do not preach hate and terror somehow non-muslim because they choose to follow the parts of the Koran that tell you to give and be at peace... I see the problem with extremists...with an emphasis on extremists muslims and I fear their extremism will turn us into extremists...In my mind its a matter of killing the extremists while fostering the moderates and keeping our own american brand of freedom. Anyway...Thats all I have left to say on the subject...I simply dont have the will to try to temper the picture painted here...its a full time job I wish you well, I honestly do...no hard feelings and good luck in everything. We do have one thing in common...we love coins...
Damn-it man, if you would have read my earlier posts we wouldn't have been in this situation. I'm trying to bury the hatchet. But NO you go back on the Utah Killer thread and Back-Post after I offer my apology. Stirring up the hornets nest yet again. Could I have let it lay, yes. Did I, NO. Nobody with a strong opinion or position on the subject would be quite after you blew off an honest apology. To be honest I only skimmed the first few lines and the last line of your post. I tooo want to end this discussion on a peaceful/friendly tone. I'll answer your question which is deep within your subconscious. Would I/coluld I live peacefully with a Muslim next door. Yes, I could. I've done it before when in Germany, (1982), before all this Holy Jihad crap came up in the world. Nuttlehuck El Rashad (very rough spelling) was a Bangladeshi in the US American Army, my roommate before I got married. I would risk my life to save anyone who needed help. Jewish, Islamic, Hindu, Black, Red, Chines, etc.,... I would also use any force necessary to stop a terror crime or any crime for that matter no matter who perpetrated it. I also would stop the desecration of a Mosque just as fast as a Church. Peace Ben
Aid is giving money to help another nation recover from a natural disaster. Paying them not to attack you is tribute. Arming both sides in a conflict with the understanding that neither will attack the other is tribute. Paying countries, or more accurately, the leadership of other countries to act in ways acceptable to the US is tribute. Paying out of fear is tribute. I completely agree that our troops should be pulled back from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. "They," whoever that is, will leave us alone once we are gone because there would be no incentive for them to change the status quo once they reach that state. Should N Korea launch a missile at the US, the nation and its leadership would quickly be obliterated. There isn't much incentive to attack a nation that isn't doing anything in your part of the world, particularly when they can destroy you in an hour. I don't know if you lived through the cold war. I did. If you did, you should have learned that having nukes and using them are far different issues. MAD works. Nobody launches a nuke just to "cause you some hurt." Even India and Pakistan learned to get along better, or at least refrain from all out warfare, after both became nuclear powers. Maybe the difference in our viewpoints is due to our different life experiences. You sound very afraid of what might happen in every conceivable bad circumstance and will pay anything to avoid being threatened. I'm not that worried about it. Regarding the NK nuclear program, I wouldn't do anything about it. It's not our problem unless we make it so. It's a problem for China, Russia and Japan to deal with. I wouldn't put troops in the area, wouldn't attend any peace conferences, wouldn't even answer the phone to talk to anyone from N Korea. They have nothing to sell and nothing to buy with. Let them get their own house in order and maybe someday we can talk. You don't see NK calling up Switzerland and demanding payments under threat. My vision for the US is a large and prosperous Switzerland -- but with a strong nuclear deterrent. If the US keeps going down the present path, there is probably close to a 100% chance that we will be attacked with nuclear or biological weapons at some point by a terrorist or rogue nation. A 99% success rate in preventing it is a guarantee of failure in the long run. The only way to avoid it is to avoid confrontation. That is the fate of anyone with the hubris to think they can be the world's sheriff.
Cloudy, I usually agree with most of your outrage on these subjects but you are completely missing the mark on this one or I haven't read your posts carefully enough. The phrase US Aide isn't truck loads of cash that we generously hand out to pacify unruely countries, quite the opposite in fact, we are the largest arms dealers in the world and most of our "US Aid" is in the form of weapons. It makes perfect sense to arm both sides in all conflicts when your real goal is to market as many weapons as possible. We are actually insuring that more conflict will take place and thus increasing our weapons proliferation aims. How many times has this approach come back to bite us in the a**? Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Any country in Central America and many more in So. Amer. The list is endless and yet our weapons industry is thriving through failed US foreign policies. If a situation gets out of hand, just have the strongest military on the planet with plenty of young people preserving "freedom" and spreading "democracy" around the world and keeping the other countries out of the nuke game and in turmoil. Business should thrive. The UN enables the process and keeps weak countries in line. We are placated and fed a load of cr** that maintains the status quo and made to fight among ourselves about sending aid to undeserving countries when the truth is that we are just insignificant players and sometime soldiers in the scheme of world events. You guys just go ahead and prattle and babble about nothing of consequence as you are meant to do. It only strengthens those that already orchestrate your every move.
okay...then let me say I apologize for dragging it back up and I will apologize for butting heads with you as I have done. I hope you can accept it better than I did the first time around...You will hear no more from me about this...take care.
I don't condone the export of weapons for profit or as "aid," but it obviously goes on. Aid is also provided to foreign governments for use in construction projects in those countries that are awarded to US companies. In those cases, the "aid" never leaves the US, and instead is just a wire transfer from the US Treasury account directly to the contractors bank account. Taxpayer dollars go straight to companies like Halliburton but are recorded as "foreign aid" in the budget. But sometimes the aid is in the form of truckloads of cash. The US sent approximately 130 tons of US currency [mostly $100 bills] to Iraq bundled together on large pallets to use to pay "contractors" who preferred not to use any formal banking arrangements. I remember the pictures being broadcast on TV, but nobody cared enough to stop it, even in Congress. Now there is concern because a lot of the cash disappeared without any accounting records to indicate who it went to or what was received in return. Sometimes it is necessary to "prattle and babble" because there is very little else that the average person can do about the situation other than to try to raise awareness or express an opinion. I think that only silence strengthens the people who pull the strings. But most people are far more concerned about what happens to Anna Nicole's baby than they are about the possible loss of representative government. People usually end up with the government they deserve.
All right! This is what I had wished had happened before, but now that it has, lets all be friends and go on from there.
At least now Kim Jong Il, get nice cognac from France, jetskis, and european prostitutes again. And USA gets 2 months of security, so thinks. Kim Jong Il is liar and not really give up weapons, but hide.
N/k Proliforation to terror factions is the big worry. Arms proliforation is an item that goes back many centuries. To day the U.S. Supplies Allies such as NATO. France has Belgium their weapon production state. Fabrique National or FN where APCs to shoulder fired arms are sold. Russia, anything goes for a price. Some of the old eastern block countries have long histories of arms merchants. Hungary, Chez republic, etc. and do not forget China. In Africa arms are bought with natural recources, lumber logs, gold , diamonds etc. Fifteen to twenty conflicts a year going on. Many of the small nations are duped into fighting for nothing more then rumors. Others are social and political differences. Twenty five percent of all money that goes to aid is suject to known " Shrinkage " another word for corruption. Most here care a lot but, to know what is out there is not good for your mental , or physical health. Go spend some money and buy that first gold coin you want or take your family for a vacation.
