Spent the evening at the O2 arena (Formaly the Millenium Dome) watching the second ever NHL game to take place outside of North America the first was last night LOL Games were played between the L A Kings & the Anaheim Ducks, last night the Kings took it 4-1 but tonight the Ducks evend it up by reversing the score LOL they won 4-1, I will post a link to pics tomorrow. It was not the best game I have ever witnesed but it was a thriller and we had great seats I now also Know that Moen plays for the Ducks LOL check out there rosta For the Ducks one player stood out above the rest there rookie Goal minder Jonas Hiller this was his NHL debut and boy did he perform stopping some 20 plus shots on his net & making it look effortless The Kings did not play badly so dont let the Scoreline confuse you, they had ample oppertunity but as I have said there was one obstical in there way. Hopefuly this will be the start of a new future for Hockey here in London, I do hope the owners of the O2 AEG take note (They own the L A KIngs too LOL)
Links to the pics I hope that you all like them http://pics.livejournal.com/iceorcuk/gallery/0000f76r
I would have to say you were watching two of the better hickey teams in the NHL. They are always right up there with the best of them at the end of the season. Of course I have to favor a slightly better team, which is the Avalanche from Colorado. If it hadn't been for them selling off a few of their better players (salary cap) to these two teams, it would be a run away for the Colorado team. This 07/08 season should be very interesting.
For my sins I have been a Blackhawks fan for about as long as I can remember & I am still waiting patiently for the team to do something The Mrs is a Wings fan As we no longer have a team here in London we both support & watch the Nottingham Panthers whenever we can The hope is that this turn out will push AEG (Owners of the O2 (Dome) & the LA Kings to reinstate the London Knights witch they shut down some years back after we lost our Ice to the developers
