Is that what we're calling being a bunch of lying ass hats now? Caring and American? Throwing people out the ranks of the insured is now "Caring" and "American". Red states make sure that millions of people do not have access to Medicaid is now called "Caring" and "American". Just Wow!

Obama never said that he wanted to "raise the cost of living for all of the poor". That is a purely fabricated statement on your part. He said that he wanted the minimum wage raised to 10.10 an hour.

BTW Old man, YOU are part of the 47% of takers Romney was referring to.

Oh, he absolutely did and he is doing it now. You just get the good side of his news and ignore the bad. It was in one of his campaign speeches and he just implemented it this year.

And, no, I am not (yet, anyway) part of Romney's 47%. I have paid taxes every year for 48 years.

How nice. It'd be better if everyone had that opportunity. Unfortunately, jobs are hard to come by, and the minimum wage, once meant for teenagers, is now the norm for many many adults.

    What can we do?

Start by insisting that corporations build factories here in America, if they intend to sell their products here. If their intention is to sell products in another country, fine...they can build the factory there, but keep them from selling those products here in America.

What that will do is increase the demand for jobs here in America. If the corporations provide a living wage, good. If they don't, then unions should be allowed to force them to comply.

Welfare wouldn't be the burden on the system that it is today, because more people will be able to pay into the system, and fewer people will need to be using it to survive.

This will drive-up prices, but people will be able to afford those higher costs, once they have an income. Right now, too many of them don't, because corporations are dictating policy, and those policies are near-sighted as Hell.

Oh, no, not minimum wages. That is a drop in the bucket compared to what I am talking about. Orders of magnitude worse than minimum wages.

This is just one thing that happens when corporations are allowed to move to foreign countries. Cheaper labor and looser regulations only translates to more profit for the corporations and more deaths.

If we force corporations to build factories here, providing jobs and better regulations, these kinds of "accidents" can be avoided, and America's economy can flourish to boot, thanks to more money being pumped into the economy.

But Obama is forcing them to move overseas.

BTW, there is no way to "force" them to stay here. There is not way (and thank God there is no way) to force a company to stay or move under our Constitution, but taxing/regulations/costs can do a pretty good job of making sure they do not stay. It might be interesting if that were to happen to the doctors under Obamacare. And I would not rule that possibility out.

Anybody ever check what the accuracy of this sort of projection is dealing with this much unknown new stuff? Not to mention the bigger photo. What the economy and world politics deals. I'll predict if those go well so will ACA. Now if we could just hog tie the TP until then ...

I'm talking about people who have debt discharged due to bankruptcy. Those who failed to repay loans from 401Ks. Those who complete a short sale of their home. Those who lapse their coverage due to not maintaining timely premium payments whose insurance carrier has received their gov't subsidies. I just think it is going to be a real mess during next year's tax season.

Of course there is, through trade-limitations, penalties, and other restructuring.

    You don't want that?

Fine, then accept that our infrastructure will continue to degrade, as there will not be enough money to sustain it. Jobs will continue to "dry-up" and as a result people will become even more dependent on a government that can't sustain itself, much less anyone else. Corporations will soon find their "meal-ticket" has no meat left on it, and they too will crash-and-burn.

It's only a matter of time, unless changes our made to avert it. One way (trade-overhaul) brings us prosperity, the other (current corporate-economics) brings us decay. I've made my choice, you've made yours. Sounds like War to me. Better bust-out the big guns, not that it'll do you any good. Even if you "win", you're gonna lose.

You are going to force a company to stay open? That had been demonstrated over and over not to work in Russia, Germany, Cuba, etc.

You really need to work on your "if/thens", as the bs you write is completely inaccurate, a reflection of just how @#$%ed-up your thoughts are on the matter.

Again, here's some water....drink it and live, or don't and collapse of dehydration. It's your choice, but if you continue to make these twists in truths, I may have to just ignore you all together and move on to those who are not so stubborn.

Screw it. Drink the water or don't drink the water, I'm moving on.

    Hey look we have rules!!!!

No offense, but we need to put that in the rules before enforcing it, right? Of course, said enforcement here is Ex-POST-Facto, right?

I am still curious what was supposedly posted.

You made a comment about a members family and I removed it, what exactly the comment was I can not recall, I can not even remember in which thread it was posted. I do think the warning in red should have been enough of a hint.
Yes we have rules not very many, the one I take to heart is bringing another members family into a discussion in a negative way. All you had to do was drop me a line via the messaging system at the time and I would have got back to you asap.
