New Atheist to the forum ,, ding ding ding get your lynching ropes

Hi all !

I just joined the forum today !

My name is Weryon, I live in Canada and I have been an atheist for 10 years. I am sure I will learn a lot from this forum and get to know you guys from coin talk in a political/ religious standpoint. I am not a crazed atheist but I am not a fan of religion “for many reasons” . I read some threads in this section and it looks like there is not many atheists or anti-theists in this site … but one has added himself today ~!

I hope we can have great discussions together, till then …

I'm in the same branch as Richard Dawkins and others. Faith was necessary when we were ignorant and needed it. Now we don't because we can give answers to the questions that we once only filed with the answer god. It should be obsolete yet parents teach their kids and they follow .... A young kid has a mechanism that if his mom or dad tells him "Santa exists" he will believe his parent... this is essential for survival . but if the parent never tell's his son or daughter that Santa is not real , he will most likely believe it all his life.

 

Also De Orc i'm glad we can talk about a non-coin subject

 

Welcome to the forum. Interesting first thread title. Don't think I have ever seen anyone come in and say 'New Christian to the forum...' or 'New Muslim to the forum...' or anything similar before. Interesting choice.

With maybe one or two exceptions, I don't think you are going to find Atheism being too shocking here. But, you may get some good play from those one or two exceptions. lol

Enlighten in this place? Naw I think it is just that Atheism isn't much of a shocker here. It probably rates on the PRWE shock meter at about the same level as someone making an introduction proclaiming they like to wear woman's underwear. lol

 

On a side note I like wearing woman's underwear ...
