BTW There are plenty of valid comparisons between Bush and Hitler unless you choose to close your eyes, stomp your feet, plug your ears and say NA-Na-Na-NA as loudly as possible! Which you obviously, with your blind patriotism, have chosen to do. If you really are so blind as to believe your government is incapable of any indiscretions given all the lessons that history has taught, you are simply part of the problem that must be swept away in the end. Just looked it up there DANr and guess what because labor doesn't calculate the number of deaths per 100,000 for the military it doesn't get counted in their statistic but in 2006, when there were 1,858 deaths in the military for 1.3 million active duty and roughly 540,000 all others including reserves. That makes the count just over 100 per 100,000 making it second only to fishermen in this country. So don't try and tell me its "safe" in comparison.

Average that over all those non-war years and you will have a different story.

 

By the same token, average those fishing deaths over the full 12 months, and you will have a fairly safe occupation. You don't seem to get killed sitting on the docks in port.
