Seriously Craig, I believe if you kill a man (while defending yourself or your family) it is 100% okay! I believe in the 2nd amendment, and we have guns in our home. If you get in a fight for somebody messing around with his wife, meaning physically touching her, and she yells at him to get off, I would say it is 100% okay to fight right back, and if it gets to a point where you have to kill him so be it. BUT, what I was talking about is all the crimes of killing somebody (in a non self defense matter) then getting out in 3 years, or 15 years, you should have done to you, exactly what you did to the other person
If Vick had drowned Parker or Ginger, my dog and cat, I would be devastated, but, he is trying to make amends for what he has done, and that is all I can ask for. I just hope he truly means what he says

 

But you see, thats not what you wrote. You wrote if you kill someone you should be killed. And how is he trying to make amends for it? by serving time? By community service? He was ordered to do those things. And I asked how you would feel about Vick if he killed your animals.

I think there is some exception to my comment, but if you do not meet up with those certain exceptions, to hell with you! You should be killed, if you go rob a convenient store, and kill the clerk. You should be killed if you go stab your cousin at a picnic during easter. You should be killed if he choke your baby.
Oh and by the way, I see crime like this all the time on the news, new statistics came out, that where I live, is the number one city for crime in the USA.
Michael Vick, lets be honest, is an *******. BUT, he is trying to make amends for what he has done, you do not know what goes on behind closed doors my friend, the Eagle's owner said he wouldn't have signed him if he didn't see any self hatred. Andy Reid, (who has two sons, constantly in and out of jail) one of the sons told him not to ask him to be signed, unless he sees a changed man. Reid saw a changed man. Jeffrey Lurie saw a changed man, and self hatred. Donavan McNabb saw a changed man. Tony Dungy saw a changed man. I don't think he is that good of an actor, I want to say that he is a changed man.

 

Sir, I read you post correctly. You only stated you would be devastated. That isnt how you would feel about someone. That is how you would feel about the loss. And how is he trying to make amends?

 

He has asked to do a commercial and other things with PETA, and PETA accepted then released a statement that they didn't want anything to do with him
And me being devastated, is how I would feel if Vick would have done it to my animals. I don't need to say anything more.

 

But how would you feel about VICK? I didnt know about the PETA thing. Did he ask or was it part of the community service sentence? Wait. I apologize. I will ask you this since you dont seem to understand the question. How would you feel about the who killed your dogs? If in fact that happened. Which I hope never does because I know how I'd feel.

 

I saw on ESPN on the bottom line, that the commercial that Vick was supposed to be on was canceled because PETA suddenly decided they wanted nothing to do with Vick, even though he wanted to do the commercial.
He was in conversations with PETA and they worked out a deal on a commercial against animal abuse.
Okay, now your question is more clear, I would want Vick to burn in hell. But the thing is, he didn't go out, taking other people's pit bulls, he used his own, and other's, who were in the dog fighting ring with him. He didn't go out to houses and take their pit bulls. So I don't know if that question is really valid.

 

Well ok then. I didnt realize they were just ''dogs'' and not pets. That makes all the difference now. But were the talks with PETA part of his sentence or did he approach them on his own?

Why would they be PETS to me? I didn't come in contact with these dogs. I didn't own these dogs. VICK and HIS BUDDIES did.

He said he was sorry, and has tried to make amends, and PETA refused. Vick has changed, 16 or 17 months in prison, to reflect. It will change a person, such as an icon like VICK. I say we just shut up, and wait and see how this plays out.

 

Calm down there sport. You must really like the guy to call him an icon. I never said you killed the dogs. I thought you liked dogs is all. By all means lets wait to see how the icon has changed.

 

So just how well do you know Michael Vick? Of course he has changed. He tossed away a few million dollars because of his own stupidity. He deserved it, he got punished and did his time. I have no problem with that. He's back in the NFL and I doubt he'll last long actually.

Let me ask you this though. If Michael Vick had lived next door to you and you HAD come in contact with these dogs would it have been OK because they weren't yours?
Your argument makes no sense at all. These dogs meant nothing to me at all as well but it's still wrong. Furthermore I have seen what has become of the "survivors".
Many were able to be placed in loving families. Others haven't fared as well. Too much trauma so his acts still go on. Good with that because they're not yours?

Maybe PETA saw this as well. You think? You think maybe it could be a good reason for them to decline Vick's "willingness" to act on PETA's behalf?

How could he really help PETA. An add that says
"Hi, I'm Michael Vick and I did horrible things to dogs but I got caught. I'm sorry and you shouldn't do horrible things to dogs because you might get caught. By the way I'm an icon."

That sure would make a great ad for PETA. Yeah, he's an icon but I don't think he is to animal lovers. Hell, he's not an icon in any way, shape or sense of the word. He's a decent quarterback. He's not great and even if he didn't lose time in the NFL due to his own stupidity that's all he'll ever be in the record books.

As a human being he will also hold the title of idiot.

People won't shut up and just see how it plays out. With parameters like that why not let the same apply to Obama? Just shut up and see how it plays out.

 

He isn't an ICON to me, in any way. As a "sports figure" he is an icon. Well, "was" an icon.

He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles, and now we will play it by ear, to see if he is really sorry.

Can't disagree with you much there, he did something that I don't, and almost all people wouldn't approve of. He did some stupid things, and time will tell if he is a changed man.

I work with a guy that absolutely HATES conservatives AND Democrats. Ask him about Vick and get ready for some fireworks is all I can say.


Hey, I said he did his time, don't care for him but he'll play. I also said I doubted he'd last that long. He made his bed and now he can lie in it.

I had nothing against him UNTIL I found out what he was doing yet I still say let him play.
I couldn't care less if he is the sorriest person in the world about this, donates half his salary to animal shelters whatever. He did what he did and people will talk about it.
He'll have to deal with a problem he created for himself.

If this is too difficult for you to grasp do some research on Pete Rose. To the best of my knowledge he never killed a dog but broke the rules.
ABSOLUTE Baseball Hall of Fame material but he messed up big time - he's still paying for it but seems he may still have a chance.

In my opinion, other people need a dose of reality. They are still complaining about something that happened already, and he was sentenced to some jail time, which he served, he is back whether everybody likes it or not.

I know all about Pete Rose. He gambled on games, but there is no proof that he intentionally threw games for money. Do I think Rose belongs in the baseball hall of fame? I don't know that I have a strong view on the situation enough, to say yay or nay, I don't think he should have done what he did, and I liked him as a player, but I don't think he should be in the hall. Yes, people don't forget about things, I don't either, but I just like to think there is some good in people. Vick killed dogs, Vick went to prison, Vick will have to live with a life long burden, Vick has apologized, and probably hates himself, he was given a second chance and probably won't have a very long NFL career now, and I say he has 0% chance of making it into the hall, even if he has the best seasons in history in his final years. It is very easy for me to grasp what is going on here, as simple as 1, 2, 3 for me.
