Moammar Gadhafi may have been murdered, beaten and tortured to death. Video showed him bleeding from the head and he was appeared to be man handed. Not that he was the nicest of people but does anyone else thing it is troubling that the government that we may have put in place with Europe under Saudi direction may be worse then what was. And why did no one say anything about the new governmentsl army abuses in that city towards the people.
I'd like to know why we invaded Libya in the first place. If we went in because of "humanitarian reasons", why are so many people dead?
Well, that's been our legacy in that part of the world for a long time now. Show up as a humanitarian force, kill a few tens of thousands of people, prop up a dictator of our own choosing, then do it again when he turns on us a few years later. That whole wheel of life thing, ya know?
Hey, we were welcomed as "liberators" in Iraq, right? And that was an actual invasion and still is an occupation. According to John McCain, it was the Brits and the French in Libya anyway. He barely gave the US credit for participating and all of this after going to Libya in 2009 to party with Gaddafi and then saying that Gaddafi was an interesting guy. Thank Allah he didn't win in 2008.
We have not had a pro west muslim leader in north africa or the middle/near since Mjohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in Iran. Jimmy Carter blew that one. As for what has happening since the Bush family took power with Clinton towing the line and Obama embracing it is that we. along with NATO, have become the military arm of Saudi Arabian foriegn policy.
I hate Obama but McCain has not been the same man of values since he left his wife who waited for him for a rich babe who bankrolled him.
