Liberal Keith Olbermann leaves MSNBC

He is far, far smarter than anyone doing the same thing on the Right. He says what he believes while people like Beck, O'Reilly, and Hannity spew unsubstantiated garbage that both brings the quality of discourse to it's lowest level and caters to the worst social characteristics this country has to offer such as racism, elitism, and paranoia. It's very easy to stir the pot and bring the bottom feeders and sludge to the surface while it is much harder to clean the water and drive the worst elements of society back below the surface. The bottom feeders are little freer today but maybe Olbermann has already done as much as he can do in this format. I can't wait to see where he shows up next.

 

Maybe he'll show up here, Dr Moen & tomc need all the support they can get.

 

You are teaching me all kinds of English. "Both" is singular and "either" is plural. I never realized that "both brings.....and caters...." was proper until today. It must be those northern schools like you went to where they teach you that "either" is plural, "both" is singular, you "here" people speak and how "impotant" correct grammar is. I admire you. You are so well educated.

BTW, please hold your breath for Olberman to show back up. I pray he is gone for good. We will be a better country without his rhetoric being heard again. (Oops, I think that should be hered again. Which is correct, sir.)

Well if the secret deal is true, it's kinda strange that the conservative big whigs had to pay him off, and more interestingly, the "no compete" clause that's supposedly part of the deal. Seems they are afraid of what the man has to say, so they paid him off. How very corporate of them. Can't beat him, pay him I guess. I guess Ed Schultz can expect a big payday soon, then Rachael. From reading a bit, it seems more like he was under contract for 2 more years. So it isn't really buying him out so much as fulfilling the contract (which probably has a non-compete clause in it). Kind of like with football coaches. They get fired but still get paid the rest of their contract...because of the contract, not because the teams pay them off to shut them up.

 

As far as him ending up on CNN, I can't see CNN sinking to that level. At least I would be very disappointed if they did. I don't think CNN strives to be thought of as another MSNBC. It would be like hiring Limbaugh.

No, I think MSNBC or Fox are the 2 places out there that he fits in...the over the top InfoNewsTainment places. MSNBC is obviously out. So Fox or off to do a radio show to compete with Rush and Hannity...or back to ESPN as an outside chance.

I cannot find it now, but I thought that you once said that you graded college papers. I pray that you use more sense than you have shown here (hear?) while grading them. If you are grading such, please, please ask someone you might believe so they can tell you I have been correct in all instances and you are not marking papers with such grammar as errors.
