Well, you normally don't much stock in FOX News. So c'mom, surprise everyone for once & back up what you say, give us your answer, defend your beliefs....if you can, that is.

Oh I know.....that creepy looking guy....what's his name....oh! Ann Coulter! He could probably do it. After all...when he converted to becoming a transwhatever, he regulated the spin successfully, making many believe he was a woman (except for that he forgot to make them take out his adam's apple and fix his ghostly appearance). Oh well...no matter. He's the man for the job.

The cost thing is really a non issue for me. The country is 13 trillion is debt and running a 1.5 trillion deficit. The extra money for the First Family to go to Europe instead of vacationing in the US is absolutely insignificant. Them staying in the US to save taxpayer money would be like a family that is a million dollars in debt switching from Coke to Shasta Cola to save money.

It is a PR issue, plain and simple, and I really don't care about the First Family's PR issues.

You know, I think this is more about revenge than anything else. The media gave Bush II a hard time because he wouldn't even cut short his vacation when Katrina struck. Now, the Republicans are going to harp on Obama for every day he takes off, even if it's not him but a family member.

David, before you post to this thread again, tell me how many vacation days did Bush II take in his first 180 days compared to Obama, and how much was spent on the Bush family's travels in comparison with the Obama family's travels?

No it's the extravagence, the opulence & the hypocrisy

You know I'm not about to waste my time looking the answer to your question so I guess I'm not allowed to post anymore, huh? The Grand Wizard or the PRWE Forum has spoken!

If you meant this as a joke David then well done because I was LMAO.
You're on a roll dude - twice in one night.

    How's this?

"glad to see obumma is eating our NE lobster and giving it free press. it’s only $3.99 a pound, cheaper than bologna at the store, so why not, we eat it all the time around here it also tastes bettah than any of that oily fish from the gulf ever will again."

So the Obamas eat well. Please name a President and First Family that haven't.

The vacation question that Peter asked? No, I don't have sources but saw that at this point in Bush's last term he had logged 44 days more vacation time than Obama. About 7 years worth for me and mine aren't paid.

Now the good news is that I've heard rumors that President Obama has been cutting back the budget on dinners at the White House for State Dignitaries etc. The menu of chitlins, watermelon, greens, pigs feet and fried okra has saved thousands so far. Of course most of these people will never venture to the White House again but it's good for the economy.
The side benefit will be these people dining out with the Obamas (instead of at the White House), ordering exhorbitantly priced food and paying sales tax on it which will help the local economy.

I guess it's all in how you look at it.

Written to be a bit humorous but also to point out the hypocrisy. It's oddly coincidental that the fat cats are portrayed yucking it up and feasting to excess...typically on "lobster dinners"- I know tomc painted that picture on more than one ocassion. Funny, at a time we are struggling the Obama's are the stereotype of excess....Spanish luxury, Martha's Vineyard, Lobster dinners...not exactly what you or I would do in tough times, right? What would be wrong with trips to a state park, vacations in their own home or grilling out with the family? Oh, that's right, that's what Bush did so it has to be wrong. Geesh, what a hypocrite.

Wouldnt prentending to be struggling be even worse? Obama makes over what; 300 thousand as Prez? Who would he be kidding if went to Maine and had hamburger helper for supper?
