Koch Brothers Sell Petrochemicals to Iran

No wonder these guys are Libertarians. They don’t want no stinkin’ government telling them not to sell petrochemicals to our enemies. Gotta love the Right-wing saviors.

Koch Industries made "improper payments" to win contracts in other countries, and circumvented a U.S. trade ban in selling petrochemicals to Iran, according to an investigation by Bloomberg News.

 

I'm sure they knew nothing about it. I mean, Iran is EVIL, right? No Republican would knowingly do such a thing. And being all about personal responsibility I know in my heart that if the K Bros had had any CLUE that this sort of thing was being done by their people they would have put a stop to it immediately and called the police or whoever it is you call in cases like this.

 

Kind of reminds me of the Bush family supporting the Nazis even during WWII. Or Reagan trading arms for hostages to support the Contras. The Right-wing is about as patriotic and loyal to this country as their bottom line dictates. Nice!

 

But not Immelt selling arms to Iran?

 

Probably because it is an overblown Bill O'Reilly conspiracy theory.

In a May 2008 Washington Post article this was reported about GE:
GE has long had a corporate presence in Iran, which U.S. officials say is providing weapons and training for Shiite militias in the Iraq conflict. Under growing criticism from the public and its own shareholders, GE announced in 2005 that it would accept no new business in Iran and would wind down existing contracts, which mostly involved sales of oil, gas and energy and health-care equipment.

 

But Immelt is a self proclaimed Republican! Just because he works for a Democratic President dont change that

 

Money, money, money. My hope is the Koch brothers earn a cell in Guantanamo for supporting terrorist activities. Just a dream though. They'll be given more money and patted on the back for supporting America during it's great economic troubles.

 

Not a lot of people from the Right defending the KBros on this. And think of all the money those boys hand out. That's gratitude for ya, isn't it?

Now, are any of you lefties intellectually honest enough to level the same criticism on the left's money man, George Soros, who has made his billions betting against the US financially?

Speaking for myself I'll be quite happy to talk about Soros if someone wants to start a thread about him. But I don't think you ought to be trying to hijack this one in order to divert attention from the issues brought up in the op.
