I knew it would come to this... Socialism everywhere! Ayn, we need you! http://www.rawstory.com/rawreplay/2011/09/tea-party-candidate-boehner-is-a-socialist/
That might be something to suggest to some of those folks who put together the websites of yours that I'm looking at. Seriously, the term is so diluted and misused by the RW that it's becoming almost meaningless.
And have you noticed how the poor beleaguered citizens of these countries are flocking to our shores in droves in an attempt to escape from their grim bleak Socialist existence.
A while back I asked the RW'ers here what Socialism was and I couldn't get anything other than a Wiki cut-n-paste from them. It's just a word that scares them and they have no idea what Socialism in any form entails but they know that they are against it. If they only knew how many things in their lives would actually be considered Socialism by their own definition and that they accept without question. Hell, the first three words of the Constitution are "We the People", it doesn't get any more Socialist than that. I defy anyone to find the words, "Capitalism", "Corporation", or the phrase "Nation Building" in the Constitution yet this is where they have thrown their allegiance.
Don't take every word of those websites as gospel and don't believe everything you read. Investigate on your own and make your own judgments.
With GwB and Hank Paulson socializing private banking in America, perhaps it's time to revisit the definition. During the Presidential Campaign and especially after Obama was elected, the words "socialist!" and even "communist!" have been flying into computer Inboxes all across our Nation, often preceded by a string of expletives. Some that are most astounding are from folks who work for local governmental agencies. Clearly, they have a warped notion about what Socialism is. Somehow, they've developed a screwball disconnect with reality. Public highways are one of the finest examples of Socialism in America. So are public schools, public parks and public libraries. Not to mention Social Security and Medicare. And police departments and town garbage collections and public health care and so on and so on. Even benefits provided for Congress Members are a form of Socialism. If money is taken from private enterprise, and used for the public good, that fits my definition of Socialism. Obviously, it also fits the definition of Ronnie Reagan, Imperial NeoCONs, and most all Republicans since Reagan. Why would Reagan argue for privatizing all Government functions (except the Military) if they were not clear and present definitions of Socialism? http://www.opednews.com/articles/Facing-Socialism-in-Americ-by-Gene-Messick-081110-646.html
Why thank you! And I thought you didn't love me. I guess I would have to call you a Constitution hater.
As a Christian, I love you like a brother. Albeit a deluded, misguided, crazy brother... but, a brother nevertheless.
And as a nontheist, I am not obligated by any dogma to love you or hate you in any way. I get to make up my own mind. And I have.
