I've said it before and I'll say it again . . . Xi is putting Russia up to this.

He wants an escalating conflict without it looking like China started it.

It's a lot easier to rally other nations to his side if it looks like he's defending Russia against the western world than invading Taiwan first.

This is analogous to the Democrat Party inviting a lot of smaller splinter groups to gather under the big tent, even though it really doesn't care about them.

The underlying reasons, in my opinion, extend to other paths of action By Xi.

The Chinese Communist Party has an ingrained long range planning to retaliate against those that slighted or used the CCP for their own nefarious betterment. Examples:

The Soviet Union threw the CCP under the bus to...successfully, btw..... instigate and launch and then manipulate the CCP actions to start and continue the Korean War. The Soviets promised the CCP AND North Korea, promising military support via equipment, Troops, Training, complete S4 support. The Soviets wined and dined the CCP and the CCP handpicked manager of North Korea...Kim.

Surreptitiously, and in a parallel action of self-betterment, the CCP had secretly planned to insure Kim would do the heavy lifting, while the CCP strengthened its military and Trade positions with the CCP.

North Korea, after the surprise invasion across the 38th Parallel, Kim realized a significant inability to maintain a successful advance, and was, in the usual CCP manner, assured by the CCP that all was well, and proceeding as planned and at the correct timetable, 3 Corps of combined CCP and Soviet Troops would be at Kim's disposal.

No. The CCP then begged and cajoled and even threatened the Soviets with military actions along the Sino-Soviet Border. That came to fruition in 1969, btw. As mentioned, the CCP has a long memory but that is another story.

The end result was that the Soviet Union supplied the necessary minimum artillery to Kim, in a gesture of solidarity, with a promise of Troop support once Kim took Seoul. Of course the Soviet Union never intended to do so, forcing the CCP to fully engage with Troops support in order to save embarrassment before the West, but the underlying reason for doing so was to protect the CCP Border, because CCP knew that Kim was unstable and had already threatened the CCP with direct military action, and the CCP were very aware that Kim would do it.

After the Korean War, Kim never forgot that the Soviets had used him. He started planning, in consort with the CCP, a retaliation against the Soviets. It failed. Instead, the Soviets demanded CCP to cease and join the CCP to conquer Indochina, using POL POT as their weapon of choice. BUT, as could have and should have been predicted, by 1966, with the advent of the start of the Military BUILD-UP by the U.S. in Viet Nam, to try again to defeat the Domino Effect, the CCP realized that again the Soviets had their own plans. This led to the Sino-Soviet armed conflicts in 1969.

The CCP began the era of revenge that would be a successful path for the CCP, the path of Capitalism, that eventually would overwhelm the supposed strength of the Soviets, and cause the West the largest shift of wealth in world history.

The new era of cooperation instituted by Putin, is the realization that his only surviving Chess move is to...of course....is CAPITALISM. However, he is cognizant he can not protect 3 Fronts militarily, and knows full well that Europe has to be the target to continue the wealth path of oil, and to start the process of negotiations with the West to safeguard the Soviet only card at this point, oil and the West withdrawal of NATO aligned countries and the threat of NATO expansionism. It required and requires to throw its own People under the bus and continue what the West perceives as a senseless War.

Thus, Putin needed to have a gaudy display of Solidarity, by begging and cajoling the CCP and the Kim Dynasty and India to support the supposed camaraderie of the Communist Nations, using India as a capitalist supporter, knowing India must acquiesce in order to have continued energy resources. India has the monetary strength Putin needs to continue to demand concessions from the West.....FOR NOW..

Is there ANY member that believes the CCP and Kim Dynasty or India would step forward to provide Military support...Troops, weapons (excepting the monetary gain by selling for hard cash to Putin any weapons) or an ideological shift?

The West has been losing this Machiavellian phony trilateral scheme, and will continue to, if the economic advantage of the CCP and the Soviets is eliminated and does not come to fruition in the next few years.

Must feel that way being forced to defend the indefensible

 

Based on Trumps comments at the UN it sounds as though we are back to supporting Ukraine and arming them to the teeth even to the point of regaining lost territory's even with the support of NATO…… I can’t say I am on base with this approach just yet. I still feel that pushing a nuclear armed nation with an authoritarian dictator at the helm is a very dangerous prospect. I’ll be paying close attention to this new approach….. BUT I wonder how the left will twist this after cheering Biden on as he sent untold billions to Ukraine apparently hoping for a similar result. Betcha they will lambaste Trump for it. Damned hypocrites.
