If any of you are actually interested, here's a relatively short analysis covering what the revisions mean, and why they happened in the context of today and historically. https://stayathomemacro.substack.com/p/job-growth-has-slowed-sharply-the It also includes this graph showing that things are actually quite a bit better (estimation wise) than they have been historically @Mopar Dude
I advise my fellow Board Members...as I have many times....that CR is your friend. NBER: This is the National Bureau of Economic Research, located in Cambridge, Mass. It is a private non-profit organization. The largest contributors are: NIH (?????-really? A very annoying subject in Congress for years). Grants. National Science Foundation (same comment). Grants. Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. and....WAIT...WAIT...WAIT... Social Security Administration (same comment as NIH/NSF). Grants. GOVERNMENT GRANTS (over and above those listed above). NBER is NOT officially affiliated with the Federal Government of any State Government. NBER is NOT a part of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. It ESTIMATES....and then ESTIMATES again, and again and again. The Fed Phil. uses (and relies) on the NBER data, and has for years, the oft-stated commentary of Fed Phil. being that NBER data uses ...how can I state this....ok. got it...after the fact analysis using a computational program developed by NBER since 1920 that bases historical actuality in comparison with NBER ESTIMATES and develops advisory Reports. A simple have another beer explanation, rather than annoy the members here with charts (misleading)/Graphs (REALLY ANNOYING), misrepresenting data as something it is not, and ....my personal lifelong pet peeve.....then presenting such misleading data as a scholarly reply to others, knowing that it is simply to impress others when the person doing so is not familiar in-depth with the subject at all. That is all I have to say about that (PS: CONGRESSIONAL RECORD IS YOUR FRIEND). Please, all avail yourselves of any methodology that will assist you in making your personal conclusions about the subject.
Whose perspective? How about the perspective of a fellow whose business is a direct reflection of the economy….. I fully anticipate exceeding my entire previous years sales when I close the books this month. Only problem is finding people willing to work. I would hire two immediately if they were willing to put in forty hours a week. And I’m not talking workforce entry wages either….. Shelves are full at the stores. Gas is affordable…. I see lots of new cars on the road…… Yeah, I suppose it is all a matter of perspective…..
I'm admittedly still expecting a downturn. Nonetheless, the worst economy Trump could produce will still outdo the best Biden and his band of incompetents could ever deliver.
Man if that hasn't been on display this week. Really put the exclamation on the meaning of hypocrisy.
You do realize that he has footed that cost himself, right? Not to mention the man accepts no formal paycheck.... But that news isn't quite sensational enough for the liberal outlets I suppose.
It's not like he added an expensive balcony (Truman) or a swimming pool (FDR) or an entire restoration of the White House (Jackie Kennedy). At least President Trump isn't stealing things from the White House (Bill and Hillary Clinton). Hmmmm.. all democrtats, yet you didn't mention them... I wonder why...
Yes, the scandal would be about the tackiness and in your face elitism when the cost of groceries are at an all time high.
He's using his OWN MONEY to fix up the ballroom? No, I have no problem with that. I hope he gilds everything! Why not? As long as he doesn't steal the furniture....
