Yes, but they're as good as it gets. You want speed and a general sense of how things are going? You get frequent reports that get updated as more data comes in. Why is firing the messenger a good idea? What will the new person do better?

 

Be serious and honest with yourself. The data has not been reliable from that office for years. And it certainly does have the appearance of having partisan based revisions more than once…… And in all fairness the numbers were reliable prior to Covid. But here now years later, there has been more than ample time to correct the problem…… I cannot do my job unreliably for three years and neither can you. If my numbers are unreliable I don’t win work. If your numbers are unreliable people get sick… Or worse…… So be honest with yourself on this one.

They are good. After the revisions. People want the early estimates so they can plan accordingly and get an approximation of how things are going. I guess quit paying attention to the early estimates if you're so worked up?

Doing so, will clarify that the Commissioner reports to the Secretary of Labor, and the Commissioner is under the DIRECTION OF THE SECRETARY OF LABOR.

The stated document will also clarify that THE SECRETARY OF LABOR has the power to...well...basically, control any and every aspect of the operation of the Farm, to collate, rearrange, distribute or consolidate or add data/people/physical assets/etc. as THE SECRETARY OF LABOR may deem desirable in the PUBLIC INTERESTS (note the deliberate plural of the word "interests").

The SECRETARY OF LABOR is a Cabinet position, reporting to POTUS. The BLS COMMISSIONER IS NOT, and serves at the pleasure of POTUS....WITH....OR WITHOUT.....CAUSE, the same as the Secretary of Labor.
