The incompetence of the agencies leadership is astounding. They, THEY ! should be fired for not properly administering the OPM directive and guidelines.
How about their coworkers? None of them have contact info? OPM requested information on employees that were on probation a few weeks ago. Agency officials had ample opportunity to identify essential employees and those that qualified for Veterans protections. These employees were exempted. If these employees were actually fired then it was due to incompetence or for political reasons period. Fire that a$$!
It's due to the blanket firing of "probationary workers" led by DOGE and Trump. Here's an earlier article about the firings. If I were those workers, I would not be coming back. Not without double salary and protections against this happening again at least.
So, if there is a directive from your employer that says to fire new hires but, consider first, if they are essential or if they belong to a protected group before letting them go. Then your supervisor fires you without considering the stipulations? Is it the employers fault?
The unions control the government for employees that have completed their probation. This is well known so this is why probationary employees are being laid off. RIFS are next. OPM has requested information about employees that have failed performance evaluations in the last 3 years. They will be the first to go, and rightfully so. Correct me if I’m wrong, you have never served in the military or have been a government employee, at least in the US. The only knowledge you have is the media you follow correct?
Because unions don't control and protect them? Then how is it the unions firing them? Sounds like the administration is just taking the easy way out, going for young people without protection because they can. Nothing to do with efficiency or performance evals. For anyone here who does hiring, does it really sound like a good idea for the future to fire all the new blood? Kinda, I was union represented for some time at a public institution. I don't think that's exactly what you're asking though. Do you have any experience?
Oh, that's an astute response. With that perspective in mind, let's look back at the past 4 years. I guess we can't blame Biden for his poor performance . . . we should blame those who put him in the White House!
