How was Bush going to prevent the attacks overseas in Spain? As a fact the number of attacks in the West went down dramatically after the action in Iraq and in the US it went to zero. When Spain elected its socialist government it didn't help at all and Holland has been in all twisted since they allowed Hirsi to be run out of the country.

One can make a sound argument that Bush's foriegn policy make the West and the US safer and that those who opposed it have had the hands full...especially France.

Did you read the report on this about 3 months ago in Foreign Policy Magazine. They did a very thorough analysis that Obama better pay attention to. When dealing with Islamic fascists Force works. Diplomacy fails.

By that measure Israel has up until recently been on a losing course. The 2006 Lebanon fiasco was a prime example. When Israel has a hardliner, like Benjamin Netanyahu, the terrorists are largely prostrate. But when you have a pushover like Olmert fouling things up, you have huge military measures that result in nothing but a stalemate and swaps with Hizbollah.

I hope that someone with intelligence and a strong background, like Tzipi Livni, will take the reigns of power there soon.

I don't want to underestimate Obama until he has been in power for a year or so. Kennedy got off to a lousy start with the Bay of Pigs fiasco, then turned around 1.5 years later with the Cuban Missile Crisis and brought the Soviets to their knees.

 

Ruben if you took the time to actualy read my post I never said he should have prevented anything, what I asked was if David blamed him for the attacks as he clearly blames Obama for the latest outrage.
Now as for France I dont suppose that you know they have had troops in Afghanistan for quite some time? Just because they did not want to get involved in Iraq dont make them bad you know, people here said the same about Canada yet they to are involved in Afghanistan! as are most European countries.
The attacks in the USA did not go to zero there was the gunman in LA Airport which happend after the twin towers then there was the foiled plot on board a US aircraft.

Biden & the Clintons knew (and proclaimed) Obama wasn't ready for the role...how did you guys miss it?? I'll take even one step further. With Obama being so clueless & with ego maniacs like Biden & the Clintons now having so much power, nothing will get accomplished. Biden & the Clintons will clash every step of the way & Obama won't be able to handle either one of them.

Begin by asking the "reporter" questions: how, why, what & where . If the person you are listening to can't or won't answer those questions (think Obama), work through them for yourself.

Obama wants to negotiate with Iran? Why?
Obama is going to lower taxes for 95% of Americans? How?

What are you KIDDING ME. The Cuban Missile Crisis was a complete failure and didn't bring anyone to their knees. It did bring the world about 15 seconds from Nuclear Armageddon's because of Kennedy's incompetence.

Lets see now Russia removed the missiles from Cuban territory and that is classed as a failure? Sorry Ruben but what would you have called a victory?
This helped bring about the downfall of Khrushchev Russia was made to look like it was retrreating and the American deal to remove obsolete missiles from Turkey was kept a secret.

 

I respectfully disagree, if anyone backed down and turned tail, it was the Soviets. In the eyes of the international scene they made a huge tactical f*** up with putting their ICBM's in Cuba. No one in the Politburo considered that the CIA would find out about it with the U2 overflights. If the U2's had overflown Cuba, and never found anything - the USA would have blundered - because one was brought down by a SAM.

Of course the missiles were found, and were a direct and immediate escalation of the threat against the USA. Their removal, or alleged removal was a strategic and publicity victory for the USA.

The removal of the Jupiter missiles from Turkey that D'Orc cites was part of the deal, a face saver for the Politburo to make a tit for tat exchange. The Jupiter missiles were short range missiles and were not nearly the threat to the USSR as the ICBM's the USSR parked in Cuba were.

In my estimation Israel lost the 2006 war with Lebanon. Hizbollah managed to not only remain there, they inflicted enough losses to the Israelis and then... got their terrorists fools released in a swap. Where are the Israeli soldiers that were kidnapped and the impetus for the whole conflict at that time?

Israel is better than that - they could have - and should have wiped those vermin off the face of the earth. As it is, the Hizbollah vermin were only emboldened by their "victory".
