This link is to the Cordoba house initiative. They are the people who wish to build a Mosque near Ground Zero in New York.
Cordoba Spain is a site where Islam overran and defeated Spain. To show submission by Spain, the Muslims took the largest Christian Church in Cordoba and made it a Mosque .

    Check , Islam in Spain 711-1400 .

This Mosque is a Victory monument over America.

I have no objection to people worshiping whatever god they decide on but Sorry this is insensative in the extreem (Bloody stupid as well) and if allowed to go ahead will cause untold anguish to the families of those who lost there lives in this attrocity.

Not near as much anguish as their own government has caused them.

It looks like he said our government is causing more pain then even this Mosque would generate.

I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive.

At this point that is completely true Spooky. Corporate America had it's chance and we've all seen the results. The trickle down effect has trickled on 98% of society. The other 2% are still urinating. Almost done though.

No Tom that is not a response but your usual rhetoric. Do you think it is a good idea to build a mosque so close to the site were so many lost there lives in a terrorist attack carried out by muslims? I dont want to have a rehash of 9/11 and if you do decide to go into one of your rants Tom I will edit it. So a simple answer would be nice

I think when the former government headed by the band of criminals it was headed by, and the 911 victim's families were largely ignored, and first responders are ignored by their own government...I think it's rather silly for anyone to represent that somehow having a place of worship is something terrible, considering all the disrespect already shown the families and victims.
....as simple answer as I care to express...

    Edit away...nothing unusual.

The top criminal responsible for 9/11 was Osama Bin Laden. When exactly was he in charge of the US government? Is it your position that we have already ignored the families of the victims so we should continue to ignore their wishes on this issue?

Really? Then why does the FBI not list Osama as wanted for 911? Answer. Because there's no evidence he had anything to do with 911. It is my position that the families that have been ignored and raped by their own country, I don't think they really care about the token idea of honoring them by keeping a mosque away from the site of the worst inside job of death and destruction in American history involving a government. You want to honor them...how bout answering some of their questions and maybe take care of the health of the first responders. We never cared about their well being, or consider their feelings up till now, so why start with some meaningless gesture and pretend we really give a s***! We don't....and I'[m sure that they don't either.

And you still wont say simply if you agree or disagree with the building of the mosque !! It is not a hard question Tom try leaving aside the rhetoric, the snide comments for a moment and concentrate on the question YES or NO to building this Mosque
I have said NO what do you say?

Correct me if I am wrong, but you were the one who claimed that Bin Laden was actually a mercenary contracted by the CIA to carry out the events of 9/11. So under your own admission, you recognize that he led the attack. We only disagree with what caused him to do what he did. You claim he was paid by the US government, I believe in his own Islamic words, Jihad!

BTW, does the FBI routinely offer $25 million dollar rewards for terrorists. Or is that type of reward reserved for the people responsible for 9/11. Here is the link to his FBI most wanted page.

    http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten/fugitives/laden.htm

Strange that there would be a $2 million dollar reward offered by the Airline Pilots Association considering no planes were involved in the attacks on the embassies in either Tanzania or Kenya. It is also strange that the wanted page was updated in November of 2001 just two months after 9/11. Hmmmm! Just a whole lot of coincidences I guess.

Well, Toe, would you publically state that Bid Laden is innocent?

So NY realty and revenue now has to bow to families of victims? Thats weird. How come those that oppose this change arent outraged by the decision to tear down Carnigie Towers and displace those living there to make way for business space? Money talks folks. If the mosque ragheads want to pay for that piece of land...Oh well. Maybe the families of the victims should pool their monies and buy that plot instead.

That is actually a very good point. I think they are going to need a rich philanthropist to step in or some level of corruption within the NYC government.

The FBI doesn't seem to think Osama is responsible for 911, according to their website.

I'm saying that the decision shouldn't have anything to do with political convenience.

Religious freedom is guaranteed in the Constitution. It's hypocritical to deny that freedom when we invade other countries under the auspices on "spreading freedom". (that would be a YES)
