You see, we're talking past each other because we're talking about two completely different subjects. Of course Republicans care about people's health...that's never been in question. The Republicans are talking about Spending and the Debt. If we can fund affordable, universal healthcare (not universal insurance), fine!! ...Republicans are all for it...Giddy-Up!!! The real issue is about prioritizing our spending and cutting where we can. The world didn't end with the Sequester and it won't end if we shut down the National Parks and cancel Sesame Street. Those are nice things, but we need to take care of priorities. Just imagine how much good we could do for one another if we didn't spend 42ยข out of every dollar to service the debt. Simply saying that we need to continue spending to Woo current voters with no concern for future generations...how selfish is that?
So republicans force a government shutdown, but it's Reid's fault, of course, because he's not a republican and hasn't been drinking enough republican-sponsored Kool-Aid? ...and you want US to drink that @#$%? No thanks. Drink it up, if you insist, but I gotta tell ya, that stuff'll rot your brain.
Maybe they don't believe Boehner is a republican. Government wouldn't be shut down if not for him, plain ans simple, no matter how the right spins it. Truth hurts.
