Steve,there was a time in which some people were saying that South Africa would never return to the British Commonwealth.These people were proved wrong back in 1994.

Ireland,like Hutt River,Somaliland & Zimbabwe,has more right to British Commonwealth membership than either Cameroon or Mozambique.Cameroon & Mozambique weasled their way into our Commonwealth under false pretences.They were never part of our Empire,whereas,Ireland,Somaliland,Zimbabwe,& Hutt River were.These 2 foreign countries deserve nothing less than to be thrown out.Rwanda also wants to weasle its way into our Commonwealth under false pretences as well!

Aidan, If I was the British Empire then I would shed the colonies, they bring nothing but heart ache.

 

What I mean to say is that when you feed starving people, they procreate and in the next generation you have more starving people. It is a vicious circle.
A fact of nature that I would not deny anyone, it feels too good.

 

Well part of Cameroon was under British mandate after WWI so yes I can see that same goes for part of Rawanda ( Tanganyika) but Mozambique LOL

Alwayslost,the British Empire wasn't all bad.In fact,it did a lot of good,especially in leaving a very strong & efficient system of government in countries like India.The British were actually the first colonial power to stamp out slavery.The other colonial powers continued to have slavery into the 20th. Century.As soon as the British granted independence in some countries,these countries ended up going downhill.The classic example is Zimbabwe.It was a thriving British colony called Rhodesia (1964-80) that was the breadbasket of southern Africa.Now Zimbabwe cannot produce enough food.In fact 4,000,000 + people have fled Zimbabwe since 1980,because they realised what a hell-hole that country is.

Well, it's easier to use a word, "Mass," instead of saying "celebrating Christ's creation of the sacrament of Holy Eucharist in the blessing and breaking of the bread etc..." And it is easier to say "Pope" rather than "Bishop of Rome." I don't think inventing a couple of short-cut words rises to the level of idolatry.

Take away slavery and make all people economic slaves of BRitish masters in India. If British so good for India, why not Indians want them as master? Indian government is work of Indian National Congress and Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohandas Gandhi and not British.

Britain run some colonies like Canada well, and some in Africa. But India bad example of British not know when leave. They not welcome after rebellion of 1857, and espeically not after Amritsar deaths of 1919, when approximately 1.500 Indians killed by British.

Rhodesia was example of White ruling and making economic slave of African people. When Zimbabwe become independent Robert Mugabe was okay ruler, but he lose his head and now it is like madman run country.

Better example of good government of Africa is country of Botswana, where democratic elections the rulle not exception. But had majority rule from beginning and not a minority rule of Rhodesia.

 

Sorrry - leave to God decison and only make best choice of life include leave others alone.

 

Indian Goverment is based on the British one so are the schools & courts & the Armed forces as are nearly all the other former colonies, so we cant have been all that bad can we, do you realy want me to compare British Colonialism to Russian? or the number of native dead!
As for Mugabe he became leader of Zimbabwee in 1980 and two years later was killing his own people in the provinces of Matabeleland and the Midlands More than 20,000 Ndebele civilians were killed by Mugabe's North-Korean trained 5th Brigade during the Gukurahundi ethnic massacres and the list goes on! this is the person you think was ok at 1st LOL
Smith & co for all there faults and they had many never behaved like this at least when they were in power the people coul eat under Mugabe they can starve.

 

Robert Mugabe became what George Washington feared he could become. A dictator obsessed with power and unable to see the suffering in his country. But George Washington was a great man and was able to let the reins of power go. Mugabe will have to die before Zimbabwe can fulfil it's promise.
