Is Obama really that smart?

I hear people claim how smart Obama is, but is he?
C'mon, the guy was a professional student until Acorn called. His entry into politics was precipitated by his connection to Bill Ayers...his election to the Senate was brokered by Ted Kennedy. By his own admission he hasn't been very good at handling his personal finances. Now that he is prez nothing has really been accomplished. He has made serious judgement mistakes. He hasn't presented a coherent policy on anything. Think about it. What makes everyone think the guy is so smart? He's well spoken? Can read?

 

Gee David when you look at it that way I guess your right. We should also include damn near every President we've had for a long time in your assessment as well then shouldn't we?

Here's two things he has on our last President.

"He's well spoken? Can read?"

He can do both and the reading is a bit more complex than Dick and Jane at the Seashore.

 

Everything is relative. Relative to Bush, he is quite smart since, like you said, Obama is well spoken and can read. lol

 

Well both President Bush and President Obama were smart enough to get into the highest office in the land now wernt they LOL

 

That's the best the right could come up with I guess. Can hardly wait to see their next criminal thief representative. NOT...and relative to Bush...Obama is Einstein times 25000.

 

He has to be smart.

Anybody that gets elected to the nation's highest office running on his "community organizing experience" and that can fool the American public with telepromter speach after teleprompter speach HAS to be smart.

 

I created this thread for 1 purpose- I wanted to see if anyone could defend BO without invoking the Bush name. Obviously you Mmm Mmm Mmm BO worshippers cannot.
To clembo & tom, it's a sad, sad state of affairs when you give BO a pass on every lousy, stinking screw up he's responsible for merely because he isn't Bush. If people like you would hold him accountible maybe, just maybe, we could get someone in the office that's worth a damn (that would satisfy the majority of Americans) and his name not be Bush (to satisfy your agenda).

 

That really doesn't take intelligence. It takes money, adverting, money, handling by the right trainers, money and more money.

 

There is a distinct difference between been inteligent and been smart Stu the question never asked if the man was inteligent just smart

Sure I'm going to take potshots at Bush. You've been doing it to Obama since BEFORE he was elected. Remember that?

So here's the difference at this point home boy. Bush had EIGHT years. Obama has been in for one. He inherited a mess. Rather than take potshots at him I have chosen to support him, as after all, he IS our President.

I gave Bush the same consideration David. I VOTED for him his first term. Can you say that? I figure you can but have you EVER given anyone consideration? - or is it just hate and smear when possible. I don't work this way.

David, I meet people like you all too often. All too often I walk away shaking my head. It gets old meeting people with ultra blinders on that really have no clue what the "average" American thinks because they are right.
Then these same people whine, spread panic and talk about the evils of "socialism", "religion" and the list goes on. Meanwhile they fail to look in the mirror and realize they have created the situation in the first place.

I DON'T agree with everything Obama has done but I'll support him UNTIL the next election. Then I'LL look in the mirror and if I don't like what I see I'll back someone else.
