It seems the BO gang has decided it would be a great idea to spend $18 million to create a website to keep us updated on the BO grand recovery scheme! $18m? I've got an IT guy that will do it for $1500!! But yet again BO and his people can't seem to tell the truth (and heaven forbid anyone call them out on it). BO is posting statistics regarding how the stimulus money is being spent and the number of jobs being created...but guess what? HE'S MAKING IT UP!! There are some Congressional districts in MN and AZ that are showing some signs of rebound but guess what? THEY DON'T EXIST!! Please, can someone tell me why this is ok? This criminal activity & should be dealt with accordingly.
That's really something. Kinda reminds me of the Bush elections (rather the Federal Judges "appointing" their fellow corrupt candidate) when the number of votes for Bush was larger than the number of registered voters in county after county in Ohio. I agree..it's not ok. But then you have to say., if it was good enough for the republicans., I guess it's good enough for the dems too. Hypocrisy should know no bounds! If lying is the standard...George Bush should have been in jail a long time ago. But he got a pass., so I give Obama a pass.
I'm glad the republicans were able to teach me something. 'What's good for the goose is good for the gander"? Seems to fit. May as well face it. All anybody is really interested in is $$$ and how to make more of it, or how to screw the poor slobs out of theirs. This is best accomplished through electing the republican party via corporate America. George Bush and Dick Cheney best represented the republicans, who represent the corporations, who profit from the exploited lower classes, who always wind up eating the aftermath.
Money is always being wasted by the US Government. I recently found out that the last administration spent 35 million dollars to notify the public they were to receive 300 hundred dollars. They couldve given me 10 million and I wouldve called everyone to let them know. As for the myterious districts; that is insane. There is one here in Nevada too that is bogus. But I havent heard of any of Obama's opponents( Ensign or McCain) demanding an investigation. Now why is that?
One good thing about having low standards for politicians...you are usually not disappointed. They tend to sink to them easily.
Reality can be a b****. I've said it before. You vote for the turd that stinks the least. It's a shell game but what else can ya do when you're forced to choose between only 2 possible candidates, BOTH owned by corporate entities. You do what we all do. Whichever one stinks the least. For me., the smelliest are routinely the republicans, since I'm not rich and tax cuts for the rich or creating more corporate "business", or bombing some brown country to rape and pilfer their oil doesn't do much for me. I think the corporate world needs plenty of oversight, so not interested in deregulating to alleviate corporate rape. I'm not into killing live creatures to get me off and I'm not a redneck, so the whole NRA thing is moot. God and abortion? I'll leave that for God to sort out., not the republicans, that think they ARE God. That leaves the only one other possible realistic contender. So I'm forced to vote democratic by default. Garbage system but that's the system we're forced to swallow.,trying to insure the smelliest corporate, wall street turd doesn't get in. Now if I were indeed rich...I'd vote for the repulicans every time. I KNOW what their agenda is, and that's getting ME more money and power. THEY would be in my own best self interest. They'll shovel MORE my way whether I need it or not, and spit on whomever they have to in order to get it to me. That's business baby! But, unfortunately I'm not rich and somebody has to be around to do actual work that all the corporate criminals need to feed the wall street casino owners and their players, so I guess I'll be stuck voting democratic forever. Such is life.
But, doesn't it seem rather odd that this President, with majorities in both houses, has focused so much on Wall Street and banks and so little on Main Street and the workers. The stock market seems to be doing well, big business are doing much better (from bailouts and firing workers) and the CEOs are, of course, getting their bonuses. But what about the unemployment that keeps going up and up. What about the foreclosures that keep coming and coming. What about the small businesses that can't keep the doors open. I just see so little difference in the turds.
I'd find that hard to argue with thus far. All voters can do is rotate the two turds every 4 years. That would mean though that we put back in 2012.,the type of turds who initiated this whole mess. Frankly that scares the hell out of me more.
Then why even bother voting? You've admitted here yourself that we are given two candidates to pick from by the real powers that be. So how is that voting????? It is not. It sounds more like time wasting to me, unless you plan to go there and write in who you actually wanted. Why follow the sheep? Do they really control you that much to where you are forced to fill in a dot for one of their chosen, unqualified candidates? That's too bad.
Bad as they both are..I think the republican's are always the worst possible choice. They make no bones about their support for the rich. See, with them, raising minimum wage is ALWAYS a bad idea, but tax cuts for the wealthy is ALWAYS a wonderful idea. Helping "business" thrive and incorporate throughout the world is always a great THING! Labor consolidation, takeover after takeover...that kind of thing..THAT'S JUST "BUSINESS". Monopolies? Hell, they invented the concept. They're ALWAYS pro war. Any criticism about goals, timetables, cost, that kind of thing, is ALWAYS construed as "not supporting the troops and "unamerican". They ALWAYS think noone should have any control over corporations or the wealthy or what they did to get wealthy whatsoever, but strangely, they're ALWAYS for "tort reform", which technically deprives other "businesses" from profiting. (actually they don't want to allow any "common" folk to be able to sue their pants off so they can engage in more raping and pilfering). Finally, basically they ALWAYS side with the upper classes rather than anyone else and usually at the expense of everyone else. My one vote cancels out some other republican vote. Negating a republican vote is my duty, far as I'm concerned. So...the best shot at keeping them out is to vote democratic. I've considered write in votes often. But as is said, that's throwing your vote away because there are but two contenders. However, if I ever do become rich, and promoting my own self interest in getting richer without having to worry about whose lives I had to financially stamp out along the way, and I can throw morality out the window...well..the republican party would be for me. Then...they would be the automatic vote. Voting for a write in would equate to the same thing as voting republican. I can't do that today, but you never know. Maybe a Ron Paul could do the trick for me. Problem is they always sound good before they get into office....afterwards...they usually are then bought and paid for (if they haven't been prior to getting there). The republicans have ALWAYS been about the rich. I never used to think that being rich was a bad thing in and of itself. I've changed my sentiment however. Few are actually rich from honest, moral, endeavours but I imagine there still are some. I think those are days past mostly though. Today...getting ultra rich generally means cutting many other folk's throats. Walmart..for example...kills most of the businesses around it., DEMANDS product at whatever threshold THEY deem want. Their employess are treated like dog meat. Almost everything they sell is from China where a twelve cent product production wise becomes a twelve hundred dollar end product. Something's wrong with that I think. (and no I don't work at Walmart but I know folks who have and I used to work for one of their service vendors...and they do the same thing with billing. They "negotiate" their bill, after delaying payment for as long as possible). Remember though...minimum wage is a bad idea...brought to you buy the morally inept republican party.
Tom, you didn't need to cancel out my vote. I cast mine and see people like you as the fools. Change starts with individuals. If that is your mindset, you are controlled like everybody else. You aren't doing anything for your country. You may as well stay home. Why do I say that? Because I could write up a dissertation twice as long as the one you just posted here, proving how unAmerican the democrat party has become and how much of a failure THEY are!!! It gets very irritating listening to people lay all this blame on the republicans. It's always the same old crap. When you guys don't hold your own party accountable. FOR A-N-YTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wake up. Obama took larger campaign donations from the big banks than McCain did!! Do you REALLY think they are (or will be) getting policed better now that the dems control everything?? (I'd say we've already seen proof of that tremendous failure.) I'm partly with you. I agree, billionaires getting richer doesn't do a damn thing to help us. If they make another billion dollars, that money is sucked out of the economy and sits there because they don't have to spend it. They don't need it. Maybe there should be a cap on wealth because it's not working the way it is. But then you impede progress. And who would be responsible enough to handle the regulation? Again, it can't work! Obama said he would bring the troops home. Yet he's sending more now. On that basis, your vote was a total bust! The wars will continue. I'd be shocked if Obama doesn't go to war with Iran. It would seem to me we've had more useless wars under dems. Did you forget about them? Obama wants to push cap and trade with a global warming agenda. A crusade that began over 10 years ago by Goldman Sachs so they could someday make *literally* a Trillion (with a T) dollars a year in government mandated profit!!! But guys like you probably think Obama came up with that himself in order to save a polar bear! Is there any control over corporations now? If not, how many more years will the administration need? Do you think Obama is not upper class? When he was campaigning, he felt the need to go have a closed door speech in S.F. with a room full of elites so he could make them promises without them going public. The meeting was leaked. But you had to be paying attention to something other than the MSM to know about it! In an interview, Obama said quote, "I hope people can respect my muslim religion...etc.." And did not correct himself, before the interviewer corrected the statement for him. Then he backed up. How do you slip on something that's supposed to be ingrained in your life? Which brings me to my next point. All this only scratches the surface. Even if you liked everything about B.O., it should at least be a little troubling to an honest person how much he has lied since day one. I've never seen a politician that has lied as much as B.O has. And he gets away with it. Free pass all the time, every time. And the masses poured into D.C. and filled the place with an ocean of people to worship him like a nazi rally. That should be troubling. That shows you how uneducated everybody is. A lot of uneducated, dishonest people out there. A dangerous situation for sure. But that's exactly what the democrat party wants!! All those people. They could win every election. THEN the country will be repaired! LOL!! Just like it is now, huh? Will you tell me that? The healing process has begun, right?? Do you honestly believe that? If so, please tell us that. Forget about more bashing. Tell me what good is happening now? What good is being done by the one you spent your time to go out and vote for? Another attack on the GOP I will consider a cop out and proof that you have nothing to say. If you can't list anything, than you should feel like a fool.
The good....The current president is not despised worldwide as the previous was. The current one can speak the english language fluently and communicate in an intelligent manner, unlike his predecessor. Most of America generally likes the current president, as opposed to despising and being embarrassed by him. He can define "sovereignty" unlike his predecessor. His presidential actions have yet to be defined. Certainly not in the 10 months he's been in there, although I'm not happy about his direction thus far, I will give the man the benefit of the doubt. The now noisy right certainly sat quietly by as we were led into a false war and our deficit went off the scales for close to a decade. I can give the man some time, given our party alternative, thank you very much.
Why is it that you do not have a viable 3rd party within the US? there is nothing to stop one been formed is there? except I suppose for appathy. Start small aiming at local and state then work for a bigger prize, after all President Obama has shown you just how much support a person or a idea can gather by using the internet (Regardless of if you like the man or not)
One point regarding Vess post, Obama has allways said that Afghanistan should be the prime target, he never mentioned cutting troop numbers there quite the reverse in fact and he is KEEPING that promise is he not? I believe another 30+ thousand promised today? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8388939.stm He did say he would reduce troop numbers in Iraq and again I believe he has done this. His big job will be to try and get the other coalition forces to increase there numbers (Good Luck on that one) The Uk and Australia have confirmed some extra troops but our Prime minister is allready talking of troop reductions. (Simply put we cant afford the war with a General election looming) Also on a slightly different note Pending House sales in the USA are up The National Association of Realtors said Tuesday its seasonally adjusted index of sales agreements rose 3.7 percent from September to October to 114.1. It was the highest reading since March 2006 and almost 32 percent above a year ago, the largest annual increase ever for the index Now if those sales become a reality then that is a very good index that things are improving and should have a knock on effect across the national economy
The 2 major parties spent over One Billion Dollars (Billion with a B) on the general election. No third party can ever even be competitive, let alone be viable under that system. Not to mention that the 2 main parties get to make up the rules on who even qualifies to get on the ballot. And on who gets in on debates. And, I would not be surprised if they pressure the media too on who gets interviewed. That does not stop me from voting for third parties but most people vote for who they see on the ballot and on TV.
Thing to do is to start it at a grass roots level, take the UKIP party here it began with a total disaster but now has Mp's in Europe seats on local councils and hopes to actualy get seats in the house of commons at the next election. These things are actualy possible, you go from the town to county level then up to state level, then the main parties have to adapt or they loose support.
