If anything Clinton should have impeached for was these 700 personal FBI files that just happen to be in their private quarters. But since Clinton was a liberal, you will NEVER hear a liberal calling out another liberal. This (spying) is the same power that every president since Carter has used, but for the life of you, you can't handle the fact that Bush is president and he is using this SAME power. "If a court refuses a FISA application and there is not sufficient time for the president to go to the court of review, the president can under executive order act unilaterally, which he is doing now," said Judge Allan Kornblum, magistrate judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida and an author of the 1978 FISA Act. Old Dan, I can't tell if you are kidding or not. Many conservative thinkers [real conservatives, not the more modern neocon types] believe that executive orders are unconstitutional themselves, seeing how this power is not given to the president in the Consititution. What you are basically saying is that anything the president does is legal as long as he gives that right to himself [or herself soon]. This is the beginning of totalitarianism. Regarding the "not sufficient time" clause, the president has 72 hours after the wiretap to request permission. This doesn't seem to much of a burden, unless of course the president is stuck on his ranch and has used up all of his Verizon cell phone minutes for the month.
